25NAA Press Release |
At the 2004 SHOT Show in Las Vegas NV, the partnership of North American Arms (NAA) and Cor-Bon Ammunition introduced the 25NAA, a new cartridge and gun combination designed for the law enforcement (backup) and personal protection markets. The 25NAA is a bottlenecked cartridge originally conceived by noted gunwriter J.B. Wood. This cartridge is an entirely new design, built from the ground up and is fired from the same frame as the super-compact 32ACP Guardian autoloader introduced by NAA five years ago. The 25NAA pushes a 35 grain Hornady XTP bullet out of a 2" barrel at a blistering 1275 f.p.s. ; gelatin (heavy clothes) penetration is 10". In typical understated fashion, NAA president Sandy Chisholm reports, "It screams! Simply stated, this round travels faster and delivers more energy than any 32ACP cartridge being commercially produced". Like the 32NAA introduced last year, the 25NAA was developed in consultation with and tested by Ed Sanow, editor of Law Enforcement magazine and internationally recognized ballistics expert (Ed's test results and penetration photos can be seen at www.naaminis.com/sanow32.html).
"As personal protection specialists, it remains our mission to offer our customers the most (stopping power) for the least (frame size). We're confident that we've met that goal with another innovative approach," added Chisholm. Like the 32NAA, this cartridge will be presented to SAAMI (the industry standards group) for their review and certification. Both the pistol (MSRP $409) and ammunition (MSRP $25 for a box of 50) are in production and should be widely available by March 1st - please check with your local gun dealer. If you are unable to find a dealer who can order the gun or ammo, please contact North American Arms at (800)821-5783 ![]() Click here to see the February 2004 Shot Show Flyer for the 25NAA. |
