Got the Cvang grips on them.
A little sandpaper and they fit.
Of course the first try is never perfect. :P

Hey Lee everytime I see YOUR sidewinders it still brings tears to my eyes and seeing everyone elses does also . Funny also I hear the Twilight Zone theme song in the backround .

The top one was my first try.
I wanted both to look like the bottom.
But after you sand too much, you can't put it back on......

Nice looking pair of Minis.
As for "putting it back on, you might try some of the epoxies out there.  A few of them are black, and would blend well.  Almost all are fairly easy to shape and sand.
Just a thought.

Actually Uncle Lee you can put it back.  I often have to fill gaps when making grips.  I use the standard setup epoxy and will fill and or build out build out areas with the epoxy.  Clear will tend to look black if attached to black material.   Wait about an hour or less.  It can be set enough to block it against a table and square the fill.   May take more than one fill, then sand to shape.   Key is mold it when it gets to that putty like state.

Those sanded grips look awesome!

Really nice job on the second one. I was just scrolling thru the thread, and didn't even notice that you had CVang grips on SIDEWINDERS. I know, I know, the subject title says Sidewinders, but when I saw the pictures and the blocky gun, my mind thought Chong grips on Pugs.

Good idea on making them fit the SW, and like Flint says, you can spiff up the fit on your first try. Please post another picture if you do so.

Dang it though, now I'm going to have to spend some more money on grips.

Do so love my CVang grips, too, on my Pug.

Thats the grandest thing with minis how you can mix and match , toy with them , consolidated small packages , just keep goofing with them at relatively low cost . So many options out there it's almost neverending and thats a good thing . Thats why I WANT MY SIDEWINDER ...sorry that just slipped out .

Great job, UL. I like how you did your CVang grips more than mine. I wonder how long it will take him to start making his grips specifically for the Sidewinder. I am also curious as to when he will have his grips redesigned for the LR. I have found that his grips are the most comfortable for me to use.

I have tried all the grips that NAA sells for the minis and I like Cvang's grips best.
They are thin but give me a good, rock solid, two finger hold.
I can grasp my mini in my pocket and pull it out with the revolver lined up with my forearm and fire it and the position of the revolver never shifts in my hand.
My middle finger does not set behind the trigger interfering with the trigger pull.
With the bird’s head and boot grips, my middle finger sits behind the trigger and gets squished by the trigger when I shoot. It feels like there is somewhere between 20 and 50 pounds on the trigger pull.
If I grasp the mini where the finger is not behind the trigger, after the first shot it is there because the mini moves.
With the Cvang grips, the revolver does not change position in my hand when I shoot.

Thanks uncle_lee. I like the look of the apple jacks.
Is there a purpose for the part that extends up the sides? And can someone post a comparison of them with the Black Widow grips and maybe the standard magnum grips?
Thanks in advance.

Boot grips.

The pieces on the grips are recoil shields which all other minis except the Sidewinder do not have.
I just tryed to make the Cvang grips fit with the recoil shields.

Cvang grips.

With issue grips (not mine)
