Old Enough to Know Better - Still Too Young to Care

I "Acted the Fool" so often in School they made me get an Equity Card

interesting video

It's very frustrating to see guys that don't at least carry a pocket knife or something for those rare times like this; just being a defenseless victim is very un-appealing to me. I hope he at least takes some bear spray and a walking stick next time he vacations. His wife was cool. He seems kind of wimpy.

Wasn't he a politician or similar, that would explain it.

One should really have some kind of plan if you are in bear country against such an event regardless of how rarely it occurs. I can't  think of too many things worse than seeing something like this happening while being effectively defenseless to stop it.

My wife carries, and I do think of her as my back up.  I suppose we should do a few cooperative type training exercises.  I always think of her defending herself when I'm not there. But in actuality, trouble could strike when we're together just as easily.  I'm not thinking of bears, of course.

YES!!! What he said!

I also often train her for different scenarios. We do it inside in the winter and outside in the summer. We also do it often to keep it fresh in our minds. Not every day, we are not militants but once a month or so. Just enough to keep her familiar. I make her to draw and fire a lot. Pulling that thing out of a pocketbook or coat pocket can be difficult if not practiced.

I also have a cap gun that is the same size as her LCR and we do stuff in the house at night with the lights off. It can be fun if you do it right!

May the good Lord look leniently on the poor SOB that tries to get over on my cutee!

A little too much information Chopprs, put me right off my breakfast

Seriously, I think that's a good idea, as Vegas George says, I tend to think of my wife using her gun to protect herself, when I'm not there and less from the angle that in a scrape two people and two guns, who know what they're doing, are going to be better than one.
