Has anyone done this?  Seems you would need to have it timed by NAA.

Why would anyone want to. People that buy a Cap and Ball bought because they like that type of gun and there fun for them, if they wanted a 22 lr why not just buy one of those. ???

They can shoot cartridge with out signing  or going thru the back-ground checks. As others do when they buy a C&B Revolver, which in many States is purchase, and walk out the door. Then buy a Conversion cartridge cylinder in 38 special or 45 Colt. Totally legal, as it is considered a machine part. If the frame is not machined to eject or made to reload cartridges.
I own such a piece. An 1860 C&B Revolver, with a 45 Schofield 5 shot conversion cylinder. To load & reload I must remove the barrel, then remove the cylinder from the Arbor. My Frame is undisturbed.
I have the choice, shoot C&B or replace the cylinder and, shoot cartridge.

In my opinion a 22 C&B conversion is not worth the trouble or expense.
I also own a Mini NAA 22 mag C&B revolver, love the little devil.

Thanks for the explanation Lefty. Seems like it makes it easy for felons to get a gun they can use >:(
Nother question do they have to be timed by NAA

OLD and GRUMPY

One add said they test fire them in more than one gun. Don't think NAA would do the work for legal reasons.
