HeyJoe its got to be one of the smoothest big bores I've shot , kodos to Colt on their Anaconda , can't find anything to improve it and not even hard on the hand actually except a better price of quality ammo .

Tahiti ............. is that anywhere close to Florida ? Ha , Ha .

I had forgotten about this one.
It has been in the box at the bank for the last 8 years.
It has memories hooked on to it.

Lots of good pictures to wake up to this morning..

Thanks OV for the eye candy.

Great photos all. I really like that Anaconda OV; and Uncle Lee, that Beretta 418 is very nice too. I have a couple/few in the vault myself. Hard to get enough of them.

OV; second photo with the four shot derringers.................... I love the way they look. I need to find a few for the gun room. By the way; there is a good scene of a pair being put to good effect on a group of snuff Voyeurs in Victorian London by Dorian Gray in the series Penny Dreadful. Granted it was Hollywood gunning but it still looked pretty good.

Thanks Rogue that center one is a real gem , it cost almost as much as that Colt above but I had to have it . Looks as if only a dozen shots went thru it if that and then put away , a beautiful piece with the almost 100% finish on it and a little 1/4 by I/8 inch imperfection on the original blue barrel , I'd carry that if it wasn't for some wise guy deputy taking it and losing it somehow . The other are excellent but the finishes are lost in time . I also favor the 32's , they are some heavy pieces and unique . Had to have another firing pin made for the Starr but made it better by extending the tit a little deeper . Took awhile to put together black powder cartridges for these but have about fifty rounds built up now plus some empties , just had to test them out . These are all pieces one just doesn't dry fire , very bad for all guns by my opinion .Still trying to justify a Remington Zig-Zag for the collection ran across a great one ($4000.00) but I already sold off all my kids , looking at the wife a little harder , ha . A guy that goes by Antique Arms (Rob Robles) has some very nice pieces , pricy but sweet stuff .

ov- Have you ever shot your Four Aces? Mine is still new unfired , in the box, in the safe. What are they worth now?  I might have posted this before, can't remember, but was in a pawn shop about twenty years ago, and they had one for sale. High priced, seems like maybe 350 bucks. I looked at it and asked the salesman, why so much? He said it was really old. I told him it was made in the 1970s. He got pretty mad at me about that. Wonder what it was pawned for. Too much, I bet. Dec 1973 Guns&Ammo had an ad on it.
For those that don't know , they made the Four Aces, The Pocket Pony revolver, and the Little Ace Derringer. This might be a rerun post for some here, but not everybody.

I've shot it Boone with shorts only just because but they weren't that expensive I believe like $120.00 maybe but that seems high . I silver plated it myself and made petrified wood grips for it again just because I could . I think they are bronze metal to begin with and couldn't keep its shine for long so I plated it . It is strictly a up close protector no doubt . Just got into four barreled shooters for awhile and it came along I think the same place a pawn shop also . Some of the oddest pieces I find in pawn shops , some keepers others resell . Same as your guy he thought it to be old and I got it without doing paperwork , ha . Sure would like that revolver they made for this piece almost impossible to find ,heck it is impossible been looking for a very long time and any I've found were long gone . Heck I'd consider some deal for one of my Rangers if I found a pristine one of these revolvers .

The little single shot derringer was carried in a holster on the outside of a hunting knife sheath..I think I got both the pony revolver, and the knife-derringer set  for a friend in the early 70s. I can't believe I didn't get the whole set.  I had a FFL for 25 years. I think  the Four Aces cost me about $75.00 then which was a lot to me  back then. Now that I think about it at that time I was making over 300 percent on piecework about then. Money to burn.

Did you get them Unc ? I post these pics for guys like us . I work between computers one an oldy goldy and a new laptop and it amazes just what pieces of crap these machines are , always changing things and mostly for the bad , trying to just find things you need a set of directions , no let me say floating directions because it seems to change without notice . WHAT A BIG JOKE ON THE AMERICAN PUBLIC !!!! And to think thisis the NEW AGE , GOD help us . Boy do I hate tech stuff , I'd be happy if they stopped making advancements after making the indoor toilet and the fridge .

Just checking auction sites and a four aces went for just less than $500 . A full three piece set went for just less than $1300 .

Nice collection OV!

Who made the stag grips for your .22 LR HJS derringer? I have the same gun but in .38 S&W.

OV-1D

Thanks and those are self-made Gebe . Made most of the grips on my collections .

Its a mood talent Gebe , ha . Heres a few of my boot grips I made that I'm quite proud of , first and third are Sambar stag second is mammoth  ivory the bottom is elephant ivory (legal ivory). Kinda time consuming but well worth the agony . Made plenty of standard grips in ,wood, petrified wood , horn ,deer antler . Everyones just gotta get started , tools make the man of course , go for it .

OV,
The Mammoth ivory grips are superb. Like to place an order for a set to fit the Ranger ll if it ever comes out.

Thanks Harry finding just the right pieces is half the trick , thickness (very important), length ,width ,color , flaws in the material is one of the biggest problems with the mammoth stuff , don't want it to fail any which way by splitting or shrinking (twisting out of fitness) . Real nice material is getting harder and harder to come by and it isn't getting any cheaper either even good looking antler getting tough to find . Funny I just one day felt the urge to make some standard antler grips , after buying some sets (Spresser), and it was off to the races . Helped some guys on the internet with some tips now they sell them ,something I can't do , just can't part with them . Anyone who would like to start I'm always willing to give advice and know how .

If I were Bill Gates I'd still be in my garage playing with this thing I built with my buddies called a computer and didn't make a buck , ha .

Thanks Gebe . I wish to see you other fellas put your minds and hands to work , I never did make any of these before till after buying a couple of sets of standard mount grips , sometimes we can amaze ourselves . Start with simple and easier material like wood then move up , no time limit , ha .
