Hi all, first NAA gun, first post.

I'm more of a searcher and reader of forums than a consistent poster but I thought I'd give my 2 cents on my new 22 MAG PUG with the T sights and the oversized NAA rubber grips.  I have truly enjoyed reading back through many many posts on this site.

LOVE the PUG as a true pocket gun, LOVE it .  Finally an EDC that can, and does, go everywhere, legal, with me.

Learned quickly when I brought it home that the Hogue grip that came on it just did not fit my hand AND, retention wise in the event of a scuffle, was not the best choice.

Bought from NAA the oversized hard rubber grip.  Feels great and thought I was all set. Went to the range....grip has A LOT of play in it once under recoil.  Did my searching and see that the grip needs to be shimmed.  Take it apart, shim it, back to the range.  Better, but based on the contour of the gun and grip the shim wants to walk up the grip and it loosens up again.  As with all my firearms, this PUG was bought to be, not only in this case an EDC, but a firearm to be shot on a regular basis at the range and enjoyed.  Don't get why NAA sells it's own grip...for its own gun, that simply does not work correctly. I could try to "fix it" again but could never truly trust it to work as it should over and over and over again. In the process of getting thingmeister grips ordered now and can't wait to get them.

The XS big dot sights....ugh.  I have them on other hand guns and love them.  Don't get it that they offer them on the PUG.  On mine anyway, you line up the "lolly pop" and, at 10 yards, it shoots WAY high.  Can live with it, just have to learn the gun and sight combination.

At the range, before the grips loosen up, and after figuring out the sights, this PUG throws darts at 10 yards.  Again, LOVE this thing as far as the actual firearm. Once I get the thingmeister grips I think this thing will be good to go for a long time to come and is a firearm I would feel safe passing on to my kids in the future.

Anyway...my 2 cents.

Welcome to the forum...TKdad
There has been a lot of discussion on grips lately on the forum so you joined at the right time.
I believe once you find the right grips for you, all the other things will fall into place.
They are great little guns... whichever you choose to carry.

Welcome along with your new choice .

TK,
Welcome to the forum. Very nice choice you made there.
Practice often with it.

I have said this many times before; Beware,NAA Minis tend to multiply so you might have another one or more in your collection!!!!

Welcome! I have the BW/MM grips on my PUG and love them. Seems like the fit is hit or miss from the factory. The first set I bought had a lot of movement. Even shimming didn't fix it. The second and third set I bought were perfect. No movement at all.

I also have the same problem with the big dot sights shooting high. I've just learned to hold the front sight a little lower in the V. No biggie.

Salutations and a great choice.

BTW contact cement on the shims keeps them from creeping.

If you ever see cv revision grips for sale do not hesitate to purchase them.

Good choice on the Pug.  I almost have mine with me all the time.

Thank you everyone!  True true, I now see how these NAA minis are addicting.  I have an itch to now pick up a 22 short...just because.

Did not think of the contact cement to hold the shims in place.  Will maybe have to give that a try...if I buy another set of the oversized grips.  See...in my effort to keep my current grips from rocking I overtightened the screw and popped the threads through the nut....felt it as soon as the last thread went though.  Since I have thingmeister grips being made as we speak, I plan to just cut off the current grips once the thingmeisters arrive.

Bought a Stoner pocket holster for the PUG as well.  Quality of the holster/leather is great.  Quite slick on the outside though.  With the oversized grips the PUG sits a little low in holster for me.  I'll see how the thingmeister grips fit.  If necessary I'll put a stitch or two on the bottom of the holster to keep the gun a bit higher.

You know what...I got caught up in something I don't care for in a lot of gun reviews I read/watch.  In my original post I said:

"The XS big dot sights....ugh.  I have them on other hand guns and love them.  Don't get it that they offer them on the PUG.  On mine anyway, you line up the "lolly pop" and, at 10 yards, it shoots WAY high.  Can live with it, just have to learn the gun and sight combination."

In sooooo many reviews, people will make comments about a particular firearm and I think...."well, that's not the intended purpose of that firearm so of course it doesn't do...fill in the blank".

I was shooting at 10 yards with a 1" barrel...and getting great groups, in my opinion, just high. This gun is not a 10 yard target pistol...that's not its purpose.  The XS Tritium Sight works as it should on a 1" barrel mini gun...would give a simple point of reference in the dark...the sights intended purpose.

Now I feel better.
