Not the first post I wanted to make. But I was wanting to know what others experience has been with relibility in these small revolvers. Ive had mine just short of a month, and have fired about 700 rounds through it. The main spring broke two weeks in. NAA sent me another one within 4 days. After installing the main spring, it seemed reliable for about week. Now reliability is down to about 60%. Could the mainspring have allready gotten weak? Or do you think its some other problem? I really love carrying and shooting this gun, just want to get it shooting 100%.

What ammo are you using? On the current Colibri I'm using I'm getting a failure to fire one or two times per cylinder. On anything else, it's 100%. At least try CCI before getting discouraged (unless you're shooting CCI already.)

howardgene63

Ive tried CCI mini mag, CCI maxi mag, and CCI maxi mag+v. Also tried various Federal, Remington, Winchester, and Norma.

I am sure that you have already done this, but my mini's can become persnickety if they haven't been carefully cleaned out. A couple of times I have one or two chambers that started being a bit inconsistent, but a careful cleaning seemed to take care of it. Both of my minis hit the primers really hard, leaving a clearly defined mark on the round. But I don't think I have fired anywhere near 700 rounds in either of them!

Hello. I just got a Black Widow also but have nowhere near that round count in it. I'm planning on shooting it again today. I would guess you are talking about Magnum rounds? I've had zero problems with LR but in 22 Mag I've had several cylinders with light strikes or whatever causing them to not go "bang". All but two did go off on the second time around. I'm trying some different ammo today to see if that makes a difference. I haven't shot it enough yet to complain but with 700 rounds...  Wow!
Keep us updated please!

howardgene63

Only about 100 rounds have been magnums. When I first got it, and right after I replaced the main spring reliability was over 90 % with lr. Now its down to 60%. I fully clean it each time I shoot with Hoppes.

I have had about 5 of these type of guns.  They have something like a 99.9% reliability.  I had one hammer spring break but i was screwing around with it dry firing.  Send it to naa and they will take care of it.

Essentially these should be 99% reliable unless you have bad ammo.

I suspect something is not totally correct. I'd call NAA and discuss the issue and see what they suggest.

In my experience, these guns are not designed for a high round count. They just can't hold up to that kind of punishment especially from mag rounds. I only put 300 rounds through mine before the cylinder pin kept popping out. The pin peened the notch beneath the barrel.

I called NAA this morning, and took it to the FEDEX office and shipped it to them. Hopefully it will hold up to some shooting when I get it back. Because as fun as it is to shoot, and easy as it is to carry. I'm not going to be able to just look at it, and not shoot it.

I have a BW 22 Mag only. I have had it about a year. I have put 500 or so rounds through it and aside from changing from adjustable to fixed sights Mine has been excellent... 500 all mags...Maybe 2 fails in 100 rounds... Usually use Maxi- Mags, Gold dots or FTX 's. Have also used Remington 33 gr, Hornady's polmer tips,CCI 30 grain polmer tips... Send it Back and let them take care of it.

I have owned and carried a BW for about 5 years.  Never had any issues whatsoever.  It gets shot regularly at the range and in the field, everything from Colibris to .50gr Federal Magnums.  Never a problem, still has the original mainspring.

Just to confirm ALL of the rounds in the magnum cylinder have been magnums....correct?
If shooting 22LR, the cylinder was changed out to the 22LR cylinder?

I bought a new Black Widow last week. Yesterday I had it on the range and it fired both the 22 mags and LR (in the spare cylinder) perfectly. All rounds in the black at 15 ft.

I put 55 magnum rounds throught it and 150 LR rounds through it. Nary a problem.

This is my 8th NAA firearm and all have performed perfectly with many rounds through them both in Magnum and LR rounds.

Can you still get these new, or are they discontinued?

Got it right from NAA... Ordered it from the website.
Oh and testing it out? I was about 10% more accurate at 7 yds, and better than that at 10 and 15 yds. Yes I do practice shooting it out that far...

Just received my Black Widow back today. NAA replaced the magnum cylinder and hammer spring. Turn around time was 15 days. So far I have fired 50 rounds with 100% reliability, 30 lr, and 20 magnum. Hopefully this hammer spring lasts longer than the first two. The long rifle ammunition I fired today was Remington Thunderbolt, It seemed to be the most accurate I have tried so far. Winchester super x 40 grn fmj 22 WMR seems to be the least accurate.

howardgene63

Just put another 70 thunderbolts through it, still 100%, the hammer is defenitely hitting harder than it ever has. It sure shoots good for its size.

Over time I've found both cast iron and spring steel for these hammer springs with the cast iron being the better without deforming , they just break over a long period of time .

I finally sent both my BW and my SW back in as I was having problems getting both to shoot Magnum rounds. Aggravating. It's been right at 2 weeks so I called them today to check on them. Customer service (which was very prompt and courteous by the way... A human answered and not a dang machine!) told me that the BW was done and they were working on the SW and might be replacing the barrel so give it a couple more days. Nice! Can't wait to try them both again!

Ordered a BW to keep my other minis company. When it gets I will need to do a family album.
