Recently picked up a skeleton belt buckle BBS-M.  I know its for a 22 mag but is it model and barrel length specific? Always wanted one now all I have to do is get the right pistol for the buckle.
Thanks for the help,
William

OLD and GRUMPY

Welcome. No old questions just ones that have not been asked for a long time. The advantage of being old is that ALL questions are new!  You notice that none of us has answered your question yet. Someone with those brain cells still in tact will get back to you.

Again welcome and post pictures!  They don't even need to have anything to do with the topic.

I have a skeleton buckle, older model. Bought it used. Included a mini. Didn't notice any markings on it.
For this buckle, barrel length wouldn't matter. It is secured mostly by the cylinder. Cut out in back of buckle, button release for bail covering front . (Front/back are actually the long sides of the cylinder as held by buckle)

There is a "knobby" portion that helps stabilize the back of the hammer to the buckle.

Thanks for the welcome.
This is for Old and Grumpy. This is my best friend.

Go to your LGS and seee if they have any minis that fit, were a big help huh :o ;D

Typically, the pics I have seen of minis in buckles, it is the 1 1/8" barrel. The newer Skelton buckle will likely work with either one, I think. I can't wear one, use to the way my gut hangs over the belt. If I try to sit, the hammer spur digs into ME! Oh well.

First, WELCOME to the forum.

Next, I have good news, and, maybe some disappointing news. Yes, the 1 5/8" barrel magnum will work on the newer skeleton buckle. However, with the CVang grips, it will not lock in, so they will have to be swapped out.i see no reason the 2 1/2" Buntline should not work, if someone wanted to use it. Just to clarify, I did try the 1 5/8", but do not own a Buntline, that is just an educated guess.

Barrel length is a non-issue with the skelleton buckle. It fits any standard frame Magnum (not the Pug or Sidewinder). Several types of grips will work, some may require modification to clear the retaining pin behind the trigger (see the thread "laser grips and skeleton buckle). The picture shows the modified
oversized grips with the clearance behind the trigger. By the way, I have caught some flack about the well used belt in the picture, so when you show us your new Mini and buckle--- be sure it's on a new belt, wash twice behind your ears and trim your toenails so everything looks spiffy ::)
