I was watching an old video of the NAA factory tour in 2010. I saw a ruff unfinished gun with a large barrel before it is machined down. I think it would make a cool model with the large diameter barrel.

  I thought Chute that you said your a female on some earlier posts , I'm I correct or did I just embarrass us both ?

Except that I don't see any way to secure the cylinder in the frame w/o R&R'ing a cylinder pin from the rear.  :P

I'm not a machinist but I agree with EW that that appears to be a lot of unnecessary machining.
Maybe their profit lay in selling scrap metal.
