Years ago i remember the madhat leather holsters does anybody now where i could  find one

grayelky

Only on the used market. He went through some personal problems and dropped off the board. If he has re-emerged, I am unaware of it. He had a great rep on the board and from pictures I saw, made a super nice holster.

Yep, they were really as grayelky said, really nice. He started out when there wasn't much else out there. I have five, and I am not a holster person. Hand sewed.
Back then before Madhat I ordered a holster from a place called Pale Horse owned by a guy named  Graham.  Screwed me out of fifty bucks. Paid him with no delivery.
Now there is some forum members on here that make good looking holsters. I like them, but I am full up.

I'm another fully satisfied customer of Mr. Madhat. Just as with The Absaroka Kid, I met it from eBay. Or rather, from buying one of his holster there.

I met him once during the fan tour NAA hosted a number of years ago at the factory in Provo. Very nice guy. I was sad to hear of his troubles.

If you get a chance to grab one, I suggest you snatch it up!

Not sure just why they are being talked about anyways seeing they are unavailable and have been for a long time besides all these other makers are just as good with more variety lately . Seen some great pieces going out by some ACTIVE posters on here ..

You can't go wrong with a holster (or ten) from the Absaroka Kid. See eBay for those:

Thanks for the advice

charlie817-
Here is a link for board member Rick, who makes a very nice holster. I have one of the pancake style for a BW. Send him a PM with any questions.

We were talking about Madhat 'cause that is what charlie817 asked about, in the first post. Didn't realize he was looking for a holster maker until later in the thread. Besides, with thread drift......

I have a Madhat pocket holster for a 1 5/8 mini. I don't ever use it. He still owes me 85 bucks for 2 holsters I prepaid for. Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes.

Right here, on this board...............

Rick Jorgenson, aka Desert Gun Leather, will make holster(s) to a customer's druthers, with excellent workmanship at a reasonable price.

If you browse this forum, you can find many examples of his wonderful work in various threads.

He's just had some major surgery, and is currently in therapy, so there may/may not be a bit of a delay in his work.

hanks for the mention pietro!

Correction for the website...   www.DesertGunLeather.com

You CAN place an order on the website (even though the banner says I'm not taking Holster orders) I put that up to slow orders down before surgery and while recuperating afterwards.

Placing a Holster order now puts you in the first batch I am working on.  I do work now on some orders placed a couple hours at a time I'm just not up to full speed yet!

You can also call me or email if you have questions, I'm happy to help you get what you want and need  ;)

Phone number is on the contact page of the website if you would like to call

You know, IF I drank coffee I could enjoy these photos even more.

Beautiful work.  I need to get a Black with Red thread pocket holster to match my driving holster and the Black Widows CVang grips... Guess I need to call the Master Craftsman and get in on his "Therapy" list!
