I came across a Black Widow in .17hmr. I might have paid too much at $400.00  but that's the cheapest I seen one.
The cylinder pin is very hard to remove. When you push in the end the check ball doesn't drop and the pin sticks. It takes sometimes 10 or more tries to get it to release. I did clean and lube it and it is better now but still not consistent. Has anyone
seen this issue before. I don't want to send it in because I heard they replace it with a .22.

This is the 17hmr beside the 22mag

THe price sounds about right from what I've seen.  Can't help you with the pin issue, sorry.
And Hades followed with him...

I use a "half drop" of automatic transmission fluid as a lubricant. (Same I use on all the guns I deal with.) Hopefully, over time it will loosen it up.

If you send it in, it will come back as a 22 mag.

If I was you Blue I'd call NAA and see if they will cut the bottom of barrel to accept the new style pin .  Sounds like the spring is broken or turned sideways or both but I'd really try to have them convert yours .
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Why not ask NAA if they will send you an old style replacement pin?

That's a very good deal. I saw them selling around $500 and more a few years ago. Not sure about the pin. Maybe it needs buffed a little bit where it's hanging up? Not sure, but good luck with it.

I had thought of that, but I would like to keep it Original. Just a little OCD on my part. I don't know how the new style pin will affect its value. I was under the impression that if you send it back they send you  a 22 mag version no matter what. I was going to call and see if they could send me a pin or tell me how to disassemble it to try and repair it. Gray, I did apply some light oil to the check ball and the button, it did make it better. Even with the pin not installed on the gun the check ball doesn't always "fall" every time the button is pushed.

Blue---       As somebody already said, call for a new pin.  If they want to see the old pin, send it to them. NOT the gun. From what you have said, it's the pin.

I understand Blue I have that same OCD , ha . Those springs on all of them after heating up tend to break down one way or another ,not very industrial proof .

that's probably why they changed the design of the pin. I will call next week. thanks for all the advise everyone.

Magnums are just plain tough on these mini's nothing could stand up for long under those pressures . Like I've always said magnums were designed as cheaper rifle round shooting sure they shoot out of these little guns were asking a lot . After prolonged shooting periods things are bound to fail . Scrutinize all mini's when buying used , heck all used guns for that matter .

One of the advantages of ATF is it has rust inhibiting properties. It will also breakdown rust. Try a little ATF, let it sit for a day or two and blast it with WD40, or an air compressor. You may be able to work out any crud or light rust that has built up. If NAA will send you a new pin, go for it. I think they might, if they have one lying around.
