Since it seems that Speer has recently done a big production run of the Gold Dot Short Barrel stuff, I stopped in at the local Cabelas (Fort Ogelthorpe, GA) to see if they had any in either .22LR or .22WMR.  No dice.  Apparently they don't stock it in-store because the gun counter guy couldn't get it to come up in his computer.

The good news was the inventory of everything else .22!  They had shelf space about 4ft square completely full of dozens of different choices.  I picked up a 400rnd box of American Eagle (Federal) 38gr copper-plated HP on sale for $24.99.  Many different bulk packs and buckets too.

Thank you for your post.

It got me off my keester and I looked up Gold Dot ammo on Ammo Seek and see that there are two vendors with stock.

On a side chance I searched for Winchester 22 shot shells and found that Cabelas has them in stock.  So much for the notify me option.
I ordered a couple of boxes as they have been out for so long (several years).
I wanted to compare the Winchester, CCI and Federal shot shells against each other but was missing the Winchester offering.
I now have over 1000 rounds of shot shells....tin cans beware. :o
The minis may get worn out just from shooting shot shells for comparison  :-\

That would be interesting MtGoat to see the results of the comparison . The Winchester has the crimped tips right .
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Yes, Federal and Winchester have crimped tops (maybe loaded on the same equipment) and CCI has the capsule.
Federal was available about 6 or 8 months ago as was CCI but Winchester just popped up on the market after 2 years absence.
