Hi All,
For those of you who might be interested, I just thought I'd share. On Instagram, I asked Iver Johnson when their long-awaited 4-barrel Stainless Sharps replica would be available. They replied and said the hurricanes in Florida slowed them down a bit (I totally understand, I'm here in Florida and my business took a real beating).

They replied to me and said they expect production to start in January!

Ok, I'm going to have to get one of those. Wonder if they'll be at the SHOT Show.

Neat. I thought that maybe all four  barrels fired at once but now I see that the firing pin rotates. I personally  won't get this is I don't need to go backwards from five  shots to four  or from wmr to LR. I can see where a collector would want one. Thanks for posting it.

Warthog

Well, IF I can get one and it isn't too much money, I would have one of those for my meager derringer collection.  Looks cool!

I always thought multi-barrel guns would be great for committing crimes--not that I do that sort of thing, LOL. I've watched a lot of forensic evidence crime shows, though, where ballistics are important for identifying the bad guy. I have a 10-barrel .22LR Leinad revolver that would definitely mess with the forensics of a crime scene. Each round would have different barrel markings. Of course, the shell casings would have the same firing-pin marks, but with a revolver, the shells don't get ejected, so they wouldn't be left at the scene anyway.

I would buy this four-barrel pepperbox just for the weirdness of it. I wouldn't carry it, but I love collecting oddball guns. Someday I should get a picture of all of my oddballs for a picture to post. I do have a couple of four-barrel .22's, but they're EIG copies of the Mossberg Brownie, not the Sharps.

It will be interesting to see if they are actually produced.
They have been on the web site for at least 10 years!

If and when it becomes available, I will want to pick one. I had the cheap Italian replica 4 barrel Sharps in .22 short in 1969. It saved ed my life. Nowadays, it's a step back to go to one from a NAA mini, but having one to replace the one got tossed in the Potomac would be kind of emotionally neat.

PLEASE do post some pics! I LOVE oddball guns. The smaller the better. I don't have anything too weird at present, but I really like them. I have a few that are off-the-beaten-path but not outlandish. I used to have an outlandish, underbarrel, folding .32 revolver. I never thought about the multiple barrels and crime forensics! I do have a two-barrel .32 acp derringer and a 9mm Doubletap 2-barrel.

Agreed! Here is the conversation from Instagram:
I commented on their new 45 Eagle announcement:
"Nice! But when will the 4-barrel Ace be available?"
They replied:
"we are a little behind but not much. Still should be in production in Jan. Things were delayed a bit due to hurricanes this year in Florida."

My fingers are crossed!

Did they mention a price for the gun?  I am certainly interested in it, I love odd ball guns and since I already have a four barrel 357mag COP, I think this would be a nice complement.

Warty, I'm so jealous of that .357!! I wanted one of those so bad back in the early 90's when I learned of their existence.

In the second link in my original post, they state in the video (at about 2:43) that the retail price will be $320 to $330. Keep in mind that was almost a year ago, so who knows.

Warthog

I actually have two, one with box and such and then this one.  I thought the COP was a great little gun and it was used in Blade Runner, one of my favorite movies.  It is the gun the guy uses to shoot the guy through the table when he was taking the test to see if he was a replicant.

I remember when Charter Arms told me at the Reno NRA convention they would have their version of the .22 mini on sale in Kalifornia  by the end of summer. That was MANY years ago & it never showed up. The price they mentioned was too low as well.
Still waiting for the Ruger XGI rifle.
I had one of the .22 short replicas long ago. There was also a smaller version with birds head grips I wanted but never found.
This current one doesn't seem to offer anything better than the minis. Did they say 7/8ths lb?

Warthog

Frankly I doubt I will carry this four barrel derringer but I will shoot it.  I looks like fun and I love odd ball guns.

Here is the Erl Svendsen .22 short version.

That was the one I wanted. It appears to be a bit larger than the NAA .22 short but the grip would be easier to hold.

Yes, I bet you would also know.  I have a few Prop Guns too, I used to collect all sorts of guns when I was working and had money.

If all the barrels fired at once it would be classified as a machine gun, that's true of even a two barrel derringer.

If it was cheap enough I'd buy one "just because"

I came across this old ad on Google. Don't know anything more than what's here. There's a nice one on GB here:

Yup, the good ol' Mossberg Brownie. I've almost bought one on multiple occasions. I did buy two E.I.G. copies of it, which are also cool little guns, but they ain't Brownies. It's a cool little 4-barrel .22. The E.I.G. had one improvement over the Brownie: It had actual extractors to pull out the rounds, similar to those common on 2-barrel derringers. The Brownie came with an extractor rod that you pushed down the barrel to push them out, if I understand the design correctly.

I'm looking forward to a new 4-barrel .22. So far, I have two 4-barrel .22's, a six-barrel .22, and a 10-barrel .22. Ironically enough, I don't have a 2-barrel one. Guess I need one of those.

OV-1D

The Brownie is also double action while the other 22's are not .All have that rotating firing pin . With the Brownie they couldn't come up with grip panel material so they use cedar roof shingles craved for the panels .

MR_22

Good point, Oh-Vee. My E.I.G.'s are double-action as well. Most derringers are not, although the trigger pull is a bit longer and harder, for sure.

i didn't know that part about the grips for the Mossberg Brownie. Some of them haven't weathered the years very well, but it's better than the brittle grips of my E.I.G. Probably half of them have cracked grips by now. One of mine does.

By the way, below is a picture of the E.I.G. My local gun shop had one the last time I was there, but it was in very poor shape. I have two of these and would have bought it, but it wasn't worth it. They weren't even asking much for it. The E.I.G.'s don't last as well as the real thing--the Brownie. Still a cool gun to have in your "weird gun" collection.

Nice! I've always liked oddball guns. The 1911A1 Carbine is pretty cool, too.
