I read only the ACTUAL informative information and not the gossiping on the message board ), I would love to be in the early bird selection of the Ranger II, but, if I am not on EB, then I will bide my time and get one in time. I am perfectly happy carrying my Sidewinder with holster grip, I carry it 24/7, however, if I did get the Early Bird Ranger II, I would then be showing the Ranger II  off to hundreds of people who would in turn be envious of me and also purchase their own Ranger II

Another issue that occurs that could have been an influence is I see EB gun come up for sale quickly at times, which is a person hanging here and buying, just to make a quick buck.  Those that have posted have demonstrated interest in NAA and are probably adding to a collection.

Warthog

As I have said repeatedly, I will wait.  IF I can get one of the EB Ranger II's, great.  If not, I will wait until the regular production Ranger II's become available.  I missed the Ranger I, I could not afford one back then.  So I waited.  IF they are able to keep the price where they hope, it is sure to be a big winner for NAA and I will get one when I am able.

I really did speak to a nice lady at NAA a couple days ago and was told the people who work at NAA were not able to get one of the first Rangers.  They had sold out and there were none left for them to buy.  She told me they have waited, just as I have, and will get one if they can when they can.  It's about all one can do in this sort of situation.

And yes, it becomes part of my collection though it is sure to be carried as well.

A lot of crying going on about how the early bird is going to work. Whatever Sandy wants is what its going to be. I'm surprised sometimes that he still does an early bird with all of the whining and crying over this isnt fair, that isnt fair..wahhhh!Be grateful that he does an earlybird and shows appreciation for his customers.......that is becoming an increasingly rare exception in the firearms manufacturing industry and i for one appreciate it.

This is why I don't spend much time on forums...
Just because I don't agree with the way they run the EB, doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to voice am opinion. The Ranger is what got me hooked on NAA. Sandys soap box is how I've been keeping tabs on the project and how I found out about the forum. If the only way to be considered for an EB is to be on the forum for the last 12 yeaes, then I know that I'll be waiting for a while longer yet. And I'm fine with waiting. There's no "crying" from me. I fully understand good customer service and customer care. It's nice that they can even have an EB program. Not everyone is lucky to receive an EB. I get it. Otherwise it would be like everyone gets a trophy win or lose. My concern is how does one "join the club"? I don't know how many ranger owners got theres a kept it. But I do know that many of the 502 have traded hands for MUCH more than they were purchased for originally. So there's "loyal" old timers that are lucky enough to already be on the list, who will probably sell it soon after they receive it because of how the Ranger went down. I for one WILL keep mine forever. I don't care if it's got a low serial number or if I got mine before everyone else. It's not about adding something to my safe for my "collection". It's something that will be incorporated to my everyday life.  To me the early bird should get the worm. Or maybe they should call it something else. Perhaps, MP...most post special.

I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful. I just don't like reading condescending retorts to my post from someone who doesn't know me. It's a good way to keep new guys from continual participation in a group discussion.

Cheers,

LHB

Yeah, a patient strategy will always win in the end . . .usually.  I agree that the Ranger II should be a winner, so one way or the other I intend to have a Ranger II in the safe.  (Never hard to find room for an NAA in the safe!)

I have a fair amount of posts here and no interest in the Ranger II, so don't assume all the longtime forum members are lining up for the Early Bird special.

Also, keep in mind that Sandy does read these forums and they have played an important role in NAA's product development and customer feedback through the years.  So, the Early Bird program is a small way of honoring those who have helped the company succeed.

If they aren't active, they are unlikely to even know about the EB Ranger II.  Probably won't even care nor want one.  In any case, I can and will continue to wait for mine, either for an EB or later on when they are produced regularly.

it sure sounds like whining to me.....you say you arent whining then go on to whine some more about people that bought a ranger breaktop and then sold it. last time i looked no one needed permission from you to either buy one or sell it after they buy it. maybe they bought it but liked the original mini better and sold it, maybe financial circumstances changed for some people and they had to sell it, maybe they just wanted to sell it and make a buck after it appreciated to 5x its purchase price.....it doesnt really matter, its their business not yours.

I have two of them and still have them......bought with money i earned by working my balls off and delaying gratification and living within my means for many decades. if you dont like my retorts put me on ignore...i wont lose any sleep over it

By now I usually try not to dignify this type of conversation with further response from my end because it only goes downhill faster when talking to a simpleton. But I can't help myself in this case...Nobody gives a *** what nut you busted paying for your guns because everyone here is a hard worker.    Been on here several years, enjoy reading the forums.  I have several NAA products (never enough) and plan to get more including a ranger ll.   i would like to get a early bird ranger ll but will wait and see if that wish comes true.   When the time comes, Sandy will know how to handle the lottery for them.

Been here since the old board, lost half my post count . Missed first ranger due to finances. Been waiting on this a long time. Still on the 32acp train for reloading availability for a mini.

You don't get a trophy by standing along the route of the Marathon.
You have to get in there and run with the runners.

Just hang in there a little longer.
Sandy said that the Early Bird program would only last around 30 days.

Yes but listening to someone blathering away with nothing to say (as it pertains to forums) should not be rewarded.  I own half a dozen NAA pistols, does that not carry more weight than someone that owns only one?   Some have many dozens of them.   Some people have NAA pistols they bought decades ago, some only got into NAAs recently.  Do the old timers have more weight?    Some, like me, lived behind the iron curtain (Marylandistan), only to move to a free state 5 years ago.  So we've been into NAA for decades but only recently allowed to buy one.

I think the post count metric is flawed, but it's probably as valid as any other metric i guess.

Word of the day!! Thanks.  Not often do you see it used. Or used properly.   I'll book mark it right under my other go to-- "RANT" (sorry).

Despite my Bloviation I am probably out. Don't think it will be on the California approved list. (F*** Jerry Brown.)

This whole Ranger thing is like my 6 grand kids. They would be happy with any of the three swings in the back yard until one says "I want the yellow swing."  Then they all want the yellow swing.  WW3.  I love them all but thank God I can send them home.

I don't blather all the time.

I have a bunch. Fewer than some. More than most.
Old ones and new ones.
Been with NAA for many years....

So I don't get rewarded for blathering.
I do for seniority.

I don't know a lot of the big or unused words.
Just the basics, enough to get by. Never figgered I needed more.
Well I just got insulted and didn't know it until I looked it up in the dictionary.
It boiled down to stupid.

I will come back to this one later.

This forum is far different than any other gun forum I have been on or am on. It is far more personal for those who come here regularly and the discussions can be quite heated some times, but for the most part they come to an end and nobody ends up in a hole in the desert. There are not really very many if any hard and fast rules.

If one comes here expecting what they find on most other forums they will be very very surprised.

The way I look at it, those of us with low post counts won't qualify for an early bird, but if enough of us do order, that shows the company that there is a demand for more than just 250 pieces, and maybe they will produce enough to at least meet that demand.  Just my thoughts.

Up until recently, I've never seen anyone bloviating to boost post counts. We do spend a lot of time telling tales, joshing each other, ranking out our pals and just having a good time visiting with each other.  That's called being active in the forum. Some of the posters here have "known" each other for years.  We get along fine and have fun. There is so much knowledge about minis and guns in general here - you can learn a lot from the "bloviators".

No one cared about post counts until the EB arrangements were announced. Then it got out of hand. I expect that to end very soon we'll go back to being your friendly neighborhood forum. You can come along if you want!

Yes Mike,
After the end of Oct. we will see the end of a lot of posting and the disappearance of a lot of posters.
Then 10 years from now, when Sandy announces the new ******* ****, the lurkers will come crying "I have been here, I have just been lurking, I think I should be able to get one just the same as those who post and are friends with the forum folks ! ".
