Canoeal- Here's a post in my yard. Up near Honesdale...   ;D
I get up that way every month or so to pick/deliver canoes. I know the area fairly well. This fall I have been to PLSP, Scranton  (near Marywood Univ.), Lake Ariel, Equinunk Taylor Lake, Lake Sheridan, and south a little to Pocono Lake; and those are just the ones off the top of my head..

im very familiar with that area also. Milford, Matamoris, Steamtown...... isnt there a public outdoor range in Hawley? I used to have a house in Sussex County, NJ.....spent my summers there growing up
It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

Funny thing is that all these new guys and old guys that never post and suddenly are posting just to get a post count up ,will be gone and never seen again as soon as the ranger comes out ::) :o

I find it sad that you think that way. Owner and carrier/user for 20 plus years, have no use for the Sidewinder, preferring the simplicity of the originals. Like the Pug, like the Black Widow, came here for some like minded comradarie. May like the Ranger II, may not once they're released into the wild. If I really wanted one, I'd spend the money and buy one that comes up on Gunbroker. We've all got to start posting sometime. Or maybe the gates should have been closed when you registered here?

Scout24 Feel welcome to post anytime and ignore the other ones, I do. I too am happy with a BW and though I seem to post fairly often, I have no plans to buy the Ranger 2. If i were to buy another, it may be a second BW, or maybe a Wasp in 22 Mag. I hear all the time "get the convertible and shoot 22lr for practice", but I have no use for 22lr, and I practice with what I use, or a cheaper version of the same caliber (hate top waste gold dots). I would like to find a slightly larger caliber that my hand can stand, will fit in my pocket, but is still more effective than what I have. Until then, a Black Widow it is.

Bigbirds post isnt stupid just because you disagree with it. He was making an empirical observation based on the marked increase in posting here since the announcement about the earlybird ranger II. There are many more people posting and there are many more posts. that is a fact. If what he is saying is not true of you, dont take it personally. He hasnt named anyone.

WHATS sad and why an I STUPID
Whats sad is all these people that have been register here for 10 years and have made 3 posts in that 10 years And then theres all the new people posting like hell cause they just want a Ranger, that's what's sad. Theres about 20 or 30 people here that post regularly and make useful comments. Theres one new guy here that just answers every post weather has something useful to say or not, He just trying to build his post count., He registered in Aug and from the time he Reg till the Sept Soapbox came out telling who would be first serve on the rangers he made 3 posts after Sept he's made over 300. Sad thing us he's very knowledgeable and is a good contributor sometimes  Just Sayin thats all. I'm all for new members to post and help others and tells us your ideas . Just we have a lot right now that are here for ONE reason only. I'll be real interested to see how many disappear after the Ranger comes out  ::)

Bigbird48

Thanks Joe glad someone understands what I meant ;)

Sad that you think there's a lot of folks here for that one reason. You have to go out of your way to find this forum, after going off the beaten path following North American Arms in the first place. I'd venture their annual production amounts to a rounding error for one of the "major" manufacturers. Maybe the Ranger II will bring new members to the fold, fans to the brand, and drive some more innovation and other new models? I truly hope you're wrong about people posting thinking it'll help them get ahead somehow. I would think NAA had a plan prior to the announcement re: post count or join date. My apologies if I ruffled your feathers.

Canoeal- Thank you for the welcome!   ;D

Would love the new ranger but it is not in the cards.

A lot of the VERY high post counts left during one of the several dust ups over the last few years.  Those accounts are most likely still active.  (I wish most of you would come back)  They can lurk and put there name on the list. We will never know. You compete with them.

New guys can post there hearts out. :'(  Those old numbers take YEARS to build. I have a big mouth and don't even come close!

Perhaps I should auction off my numbers!  ;D

NAA has been in business for over 40 years is shows that all there guns are quality products and they have brought new products over the years, and the Ranger 11 is now one of these new guns.  They hope it will be a hit, but if its not NAA will still be here. I don't think their intention was to become a number one gun company. Their guns are aimed at a particular market. Not everyone wants a pocket gun, but those of use that do know that NAA  minis are a great gun to have.
now you think its sad that I think a lot are here for one reason. Truth is a lot are here for one reason thats just a fact. I hope to see you here in the months and years to come and contribute to the forum. Oh one more thing you said about going out of your way to find this forum. How do you figure that? Theres a link right to it at the top of the page on the NAA website.Welcome aboard hope you stay.

Agreed- Solid products from a reputable company here for the long haul. I liked my first so much, I recently bought it's twin. Going out of your way-  As you said, not everyone wants a pocket pistol. Of those who do, how many want a stainless single action .22 revolver? Perhaps not worded well, I meant the forum members represent a small percentage of owners of a niche product aimed at a small corner of the handgun market.

I've been a member for a long time and rarely post. I don't even own a photo of a post!!!!

RogueTS1

Until recently I could sign in read the new posts and within 10 minutes have read everything new, posted on a few threads I may have had something to add to and sign out finished until later in the evening where I would go through and do the same again.

Recently it takes me forever to go through all the threads and posts that have "suddenly" come about. I cannot say with certainty why it has happened now but it is a bit funny how mention of the thread count for the Ranger II just happened at the exact same time.  ???

Yea I'm new here to the message board but have posted in Sandys soap box a few times over the last 18 months. When I realized there was a true forum I knew I didn't have a chacne because I'm not a huge fan of forums. I just don't like spending too much time in front of a computer. So when I saw guys with 7k plus post I was screwed outa the EB. Some of the post I've seen is from guys that already have the orginal ranger. I saw one post where a guy have TWO original pieces. So they'll probably be near first in line to get a ranger 2 as well. Not sure I they can't do more of a "black friday" style EB special. Lemme get off my soap box now. Love all the post in this post lol

For whatever reason, whether for the E/B or just some finding an interest in this forum, it's been nice to see new ones come on board and some old ones come back to get there feet wet again, very refreshing.
With winter coming on and myself starting to have more time to read all the posts, and this being the only forum I'm on, I'm looking forward to all the stories, craftsmanship, and humor that this forum has to offer.
I still enjoy my morning coffee and  reading all your posts and I too sometimes can't get through them all in one sitting, but don't mind that at all.

Does it really matter why people are posting more?

lets face it; this is a tiny notch of a nitch market. The little teeny tiny single action mini .22 is seen by many as a toy, a fake gun, a poor excuse of a firearm.

I know because as an enthusiastic mini owner I have brought up the mini on some other forums and been flamed to a crisp for bringing up such a "little POS for serious discussion."

Okay, maybe  some people who have been lurking and not posting have suddenly become active wanting a new ranger. The way I see it, let them. The more mini's in circulation the better for NAA. The more people get these guns, and the more people carry the guns, and the more non mini people get to see and maybe handle the guns, the more people will see that these guns are a serious tool for self defense.

Look people, we're like the teeny tiny segment of the public that likes something that is viewed by the majority as 'weird', and kind of a joke. The more we grow the better. If the new gun brings more enthusiasts, good. We're unique and a rare commodity in the world. I never see mini's in any of the local gun shops around here, so a higher gun sales that means higher amount of. guns getting out there is a good thing to me.

And who knows, the new posters may actually have something to contribute to the forums. New people, new ideas. I'm a new member and I hope I've made some people think about something. I didn't even know this NAA forums existed.  I love to talk mini's but everytime I brought them up on other forums I got flamed.  If you stagnate, you become a dinosaur. And look what happened to the dinosaurs!

I guess I am late to the Heavy Post posts post. Sorry, does that make sense?  Being new to the forum, but late in age allows me some leeway I hope.  I  have a couple Minis, like 'em a lot. I tend to follow the FB Mini page a bit more, but will try to get my post count up here.  Thanks.

I don't drink coffee.  It keeps me up and so even decaf makes me jittery.  Mostly I drink water, sometimes diet lemonade or limeade or a mixture of both that I mix from packets.

I read the posts as I get to them and post when I feel like saying something.  I can wait for the Ranger II, have been since I couldn't afford the first Ranger.  It is fine, and I have time.

Im more or less with you on this. Seems like big bird is worried some new guy is gonna take his spot in the EB. I'll be the first to admit that I am here because of the EB announcement. The ranger IS WHAT MADE ME A FAN OF NAA. So yes, I've been waiting for nearly 2 years to get one. I'm sorta annoyed that the "old guys" who are hording the Rangers the Rangers and seem to be automatically first in line for any EB, are griping that a new fan is trying to join the club. The ranger is why I'm looking at getting a mini or pug. So unwad your feathers and be nice to the newbies. Just because someone doesn't have hours of computer time doesn't mean they don't appreciate a quality product. I can go on...

I apologize for calling it stupid. It is rather insensitive though, as current post are not likely to make any difference, and we would like to have added input.

The sad fact is that after the Ranger 2 comes out and most didn't get an EB 90% of these posters will crawl back into the woodwork never to be heard from again, hopefully a few will stick around and become regular posters and contribute to some good discussions.

Heyjoe- Sorry for the late response. Yes, there's an outdoor public range just outside of Hawley. Free to use with a valid hunting license, or a no-charge range access card. I go there once a month or so. Coming from the state of New York a few years ago, it was a very pleasant change moving here...
