When was the 17HMR BW available?

I can't remember.  I know there are folks here who will know so stay tuned for a more knowledgable collector.

They stopped making them because the round was too fast and they couldn't keep them from tumbling once they left the barrel.  Happens on this one, Black Widows and other sizes so they decided they weren't a good round to use anymore.  So far it seems to work well in my MiniMaster, 4" bbl, but I will see when I take the MiniMaster to the range soon.

So far this (below w/oversized NAA rubber grip) revolver hasn't been bad but I guess I will see soon how it is doing as I plan on bringing to the range soon.

From what I can find the BW and Mini Master were available  in .17 HMRas early as 2003, the Mini was started in 2005. It appears they are all gone from new stock by 2008.

as usual yer all correct but i love my pugs with front pocket carry. two cylinders of course. when i want to go target shooting i just take a full size 22 revolver. yer not supposed to shoot the bad guy at 25 yards. i do not want to explain to the jury how i brought her up and lined up the sights and pulled the trigger. fer me, they are belly guns. now, do not become angry at me for this, i enjoy hitting my target when plinking and ya can with all the naa revolvers but how far can ya get away with a defense situation in a shooting. just my thoughts on this after over 40yrs of legal carry.   kevin.

Totally agree with this. Any action you take has to be articulated in court, and I can't imagine how to articulate how a bad guy was an immediate danger to me at 25 yards. Before any action is taken, the most dangerous tool has to be brought into play; the brain.

There's range guns that can reach out there;

Then there's a little something for the pocket for those close encounters of the ugly kind;

I agree.  I, too, enjoy shooting my minis at the range, but if it has to come out of my pocket, it is because I was a lousy shot with my 9mm and the bad guy is on me or standing over me.  Last resort kind of thing.  And I also agree; pulling the trigger has to be when I know I, or my family, is going to die unless I do something.

I have always said, the best defense is the Mr. Miyagi defense; "No be There".  So I keep situationally aware and try my best to stay out of circumstances that may be questionable.  I know that is not always possible; that is why I still have my EDC stuff.

Sorry Keith I must of missed it. That area is one of my most favorite places to ride my bike :D. Can't tell you how many trips over the Kanc I've made, more then most I'm sure, or the ride up to Cathedral Ledge, certainly ranks as one of the most beautiful spots to visit.

Yes very blessed to live in such a beautiful part of our country. I ride my motorcycles over those same areas as just a quick evening ride. I also ride them year round on my Ural sidecar rig.
A friend works for the Bangor Daily News so he post many of our rides
