S&W 686 357 mag, 7 shot.
Heavy artillery

With the Double Tap ammo I carry in it, it sounds a bit like artillery at the indoor range :), quite the blast with a 158 gr at 1300 fps even from the short barrel. A lot of fun to shoot with just the cheap 38 special fmj ammo too, very low recoil in comparison. It's one of my favorite handguns, and I figure 7 rounds of 357 mag should get you out of most scrapes, it's a good trail gun too for Cougars and the like, although I usually go with 44 mag if there are likely to be bears, I still feel against smaller black bears it wold be pretty effective.

Sorry; too much to do yesterday as well as got home too late from running errands. Too lazy to try and get some good lighting in the house for decent photos. Maybe next week ..................  :(

Busy getting supplies, gear  and arms loaded up for a weekend training class as well.  :o "Don't forget anything!"

Nice looking holster BB, good deal.  Now that you have it back from Rick it is time to carry it and shoot people.  LOL

Warty, isn't your 45 just a Redhawk?, I thought the Alaskan was built on the more massive Super Redhawk frame, but they both look the same size, other than a bit more beef in the top strap of the Alaskan.

There is, but I think my bad photography at the time I took the picture exaggerated their size :)

Something a little more artistic, even though the wheel guns got photobombed by a rifle and scatter gun.

One of my favorites!

Merwin Hulbert .38 made in 1880s.  They were way ahead of their time, the barrel can be changed in seconds, often sold with 2 or 3 barrels in various lenghths. They load by a loading gate but empties are dumped by moving barrel and cylinder forward, but only moves enough for empties to fall free, not loaded ammo.  Amazing design and machining.

Forgot to mention the folding pocket hammer, if you look closely you can see that the hammer folds out for single action cocking, revolver is DA. When its folded it will not catch on the pocket during draw.

does that feature, where the empties are dumped but not the loaded ammo work well in yours? i've read conflicting information, with some saying that it doesnt work that well and is prone to dumping unfired ammo too.

Heyjoe it works ok, shot it today and it seems to work as designed.  Ringing he gong at 20 yards, not bad for 1880s.
