32 ACP Guardian - Bullets tipping. Normal?

Hello NAA Forum!  New member here.

I just acquired a "new-to-me" 32 Guardian from my local gun store.  It looks like it was shot very little.  I took it to the range today and noticed that about 1/3 of the bullets go through the paper target crooked.  They are tipping in flight because they are not sufficiently stabilized.  (Ammunition was Fiocchi FMJ).

Have other forum members noticed this behavior with their 32 Guardians?

Thanks!

yep, me too, but that ammo is way to hot for these little autos. i know it costs more but get some usa sammi spec 32acp ammo.  kevin.

I have the .380 acp version. I have not noticed any key-holing. That is using my own reloads.

Well, the one I had never had this trouble.  Never shot the Fiochi though so it might be the ammo, as stated before.

Try a different ammo and see if it still happens.

I've not noticed it with my 380 either, but the rifling is incredibly shallow in the barrel, the first time I looked down the barrel I thought it was a smoothbore the day I bought it.

I'd suggest trying some different ammunition.

I tried some off-brand ammunition made with plated bullets, and the results were better than with the Fiocchi.  In a couple of magazines, only one bullet tipped.  The accuracy was better too.  The Fiocchi rounds were hitting more than a foot high at ten yards, and the spread was about a foot wide.  With the plated bullets, the rounds were hitting about four inches low and right, and the spread was only about four inches.  At ten yards, I'm okay with that.

Thanks for the tip.

I had very good luck with magtec 32 Acp and Federal hydra shock 32 Acp try that don't shoot or try not to shoot +p out of blow back gun.  Try those loads I think there work good for you like I said I use them in my NAA Guardian 32
