Taking my Ported Pug, my 22LR Bug Out and my soon to be 22 Short watch fob.  I wanna see how they do.  I never realized my Bug Out had a tritium sight on it.  I do now though.  I have a few things to do first, but once they are done... Gonna hit the range!  Here is a pic of the range....I use Zombie Targets. 8)

Have fun. Take your regular pug too and see if you can tell the difference when firing. I know there was a discussion on that and another point of view never hurts. I need to get out to the range too. Maybe I'll wait til I have the Ranger II in hand.

Warthog

I have and said in the other thread that it does.  It makes it easier to follow up and helps with the muzzle flip. ;)

When I have my Ranger II I will go again.

I must have missed that. Of forgotten. Getting old and crs

Warthog

No problem Joe, I don't mind repeating myself. ;)

I often forget what I was going to do, I walk into a room and then look around and if my cat is there I ask her what I was going to do.
She doesn't know and I can't really speak "cat" so she usually looks at me funny and walks out of the room.

Well, sadly I got all packed up and went to the car and found I don't have enough gasoline to get to the range today. :(
I am broke too so I guess I will have to wait until I get paid.  I might have some money before then, waiting for a check from someone who owes me.
Most likely though it will have to wait for payday which is the 18th.  I will update the thread after I am able to got to the range.
Maybe the new ranger ii will be in by then too and I will take it as well. :D

My son works at Walmart in the AP dept. (Asset Protection)  I have visited his store, which is about 25 miles from where I live.  I agree with you.

On another note, I think I was uploaded to "People of Walmart" a couple of years ago, but I have never seen my picture.  I had just returned from Siberia, north of Kazakhstan and Mongolia, when I visited my local (Ohio) Walmart wearing my Artic Fox Ushanka with full fox tail hanging from the back (think of a gray, extremely fuzzy, Daniel Boone hat).  A little girl ran up to me, took my picture, and scurried away.  If you have seen the picture, yes I was carrying.

I may have seen that photo. Your description sounds familiar.

I love those targets.  I was their best customer for many years.  Sadly, they went out of business a few years ago.  I bought the rest of the targets they had on hand, they made me a very good deal on them too.  I have a bunch of them left but they will be the last of them. :(  I thought they sold well, I always told folks where I got them when they asked me at the range.  The major printers of targets, like Caldwell, apparently started making Zombie targets too and since they had their own printing places, they were able to make them a lot less expensively than the people who made mine.  So they had to change gears and make something else though IDK what that is...

Yeah, they remind me of WalMart shoppers too.  I see them often, I shop for my groceries there as well as the local Kroger.  Where I live, some things can only be had at WalMart.  White bread and Bologna is what most places sell since it is what is in demand here.  I wish I could move but I simply am not able to do so.  Never should have bought a house, that would have made me far more mobile.  But I did so I have to stay here.,,the most unfriendly place I have ever lived.

Well ruger, I literally have lived all over the world.  I have never not been able to make at least one friend anywhere else.  I have lived here for 10+ years and met a lot of people at the range and off but no one here wants to know me better than to say "Hi" if they see me out and about.  I think it is because this area was once the strongest place in the nation for the KKK.  I think that people here simply do not want to know you if they didn't grow up with you and know you extremely well.  They just can't trust you well enough if they don't know you from youth.

Also, I don't work so that sure doesn't help.  I have been places for long times without working and made friends but it just doesn't seem likely to happen here, even at church.

as you get older its not as easy to make new friends...people are pretty set in their ways by then.....most of my friends are dead
It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

Enjoy your NAA range day Warty. I just picked up a Sidewinder Saturday and paid off my 2.5" Sidewinder today. I can see an all NAA range day in my future too. I started visiting this forum again lately and have caught the NAA bug big time. I've had a Black Widow for a while. I ordered the 2.5" Sidewinder last week and found a used standard Sidewinder for $225. I couldn't pass it up. Then I saw the Ranger 2 on Bud's and had to put it on layaway. This getting expensive. Now they will all need custom grips and holsters. Hmm, I wonder if there's an engraver near my home? lol

In reference to unfriendly towns, when my wife and I moved here in 1971, the only people in the neighborhood that spoke to us were our two next door neighbors, and the woman across the street, who was an Avon saleswomen.  When we bought a house four doors down from where we were renting, they then started to speak to us.

This was a typical small Illinois river town, until Cat build a large plant south of town in the 60s, and to the locals, ruined the town by bringing in outsiders.  I think that part of the coldness came from the fact that a lot of people came here to work for Cat, and didn't like the work, or the area, or something, and went back home.  I know that in the two years we rented the house, another house down the street had three different families in the two years.  I think the locals just assumed that we were not staying.  Kids are not accepted into the "group" unless their parents were born here.

This might also be a problem for me.  It is also the town, I don't even know my neighbors even though I wave and tell them hello all the time.  They just look at me like I am someone who wants something and look away.  The kids are little thieves and are always trying to steal stuff from my yard, or they are trying to cut through my yard on their bicycles.  They also seem to try to use my curb for some sort of ramp for jumps.  I even have mail taken from my mailbox at times and the post office doesn't seem to care nor do the police.  So I go out when I hear the mail person go down the other side and wait for my mail.  I really would like to find another place to live but for now, I put up with it and try not to shoot everyone.

LOL, I am not really wanting to do it.  I carry and such but I would hate to have to shoot someone.  I did it when I was younger once during a home invasion but it make me very sad to have taken a life.  Had nightmares for a long time from it too.  I would only shoot someone if there was no other way to keep myself from being hurt.

I get what I think is called "Informed Delivery Daily Digest" from the post office.  They send me an email each delivery day showing what I should be receiving that day but only what went through a certain sorting facility so it doesn't include some stuff (mostly junk mail).   Not often but a couple times in the last few months something came a day late.  Also at least twice  I did not get and never got stuff that I was supposed to get.  That information helped me realize I was missing a credit card statement which helped me get the payment in on time.
Once in awhile I get something in our mail box that is for another address.  I put it back in the mailbox with a note or if it is for a next door neighbor I put it in the neighbor's box.  What  I suspect is that someone else got my  mail once in awhile and just tossed other.  I suppose that could happen if they opened it by mistake and didn't want to own up to opening it.  Overall the mail is quite realiable.

Warthog

Never heard of that Bj, do I just go to the USPS website and sign up for it?  ThAt would be a good deal and I would know better what I should have gotten.

When I go to usps.com there is an "Informed Delivery" place to click across top top.  It looks like it is available depending on zip code.

How do you get the watch fob hook up for the short?

I haven't yet, no money.  I will have my gunsmith put a little eyelet on the back of the frame.  He already looked it over and says it shouldn't be a problem.  Payday will let me get it there and have it done.

Thanks Bj!

Looks like I will finally be able to hit the range tomorrow.  Everything is still packed up and ready.  Will try to remember my camera since I don't have a cell phone to take some pix.  Probably add some things to what I bring as I just got an old Ruger P95 9mm in a trade over the weekend and want to try it out.

Years ago I had a P95. Fun gun. Enjoy your day at the range warty.

Warthog

Sorry, no pix.  The Ported PUG shot very nicely and was easy to shoot.  I even shot way back, like from 20 yards, which is long distance for a Mini.  It was great.  The Bug Out is also a very nice shooter, I bet I could even hunt with it, it was very very nice.  Still think my Black Widow is better to carry though.  The new 22 Short that will become my pocket watch fob was good as well though it is so small it will be a deep cover BUG.

The latest of my Ruger P Series pistols was also nice to shoot.  I have several of these 9mm P series pistols but the P95 was a very nice handgun to shoot.

Glad you had a great shoot today, Warty!  I also have the ported Pug, and think it shoots incredibly well for such a tiny magnum.  Admittedly, I've never tried the non-ported version, but this is one nice little revolver.  I carry it as my back-up almost every day.  We'll see what happens when I get my Ranger IIs.

So, making guns illegal will take them off the street?
Perfect!  We should probably make heroine and meth illegal, too!

Warthog

Well, I do have a picture of the PUG, I put boot grips on mine, makes it easier to aim and hold, at least for me.  Here are all of them, the two with the black CVang grips are consecutive serial number, non ported PUGS and the one with the wood Boot Grip is the ported one.

Do a search on the forum about using LR ammo in a short. Interesting.
