Credit Card Sized Pistol

As many of us check our credit card accounts for the Ranger II payment, here's a gun with the footprint of a credit card. With a single shot of 22 and needing 6 seconds and both hands to deploy (although it seems to me it could be much quicker with practice) it seems it would only fit some very particular SD scenarios. I actually rather like the whole thing purely for it's novelty value, it's like something you'd see in a spy movie.

I am not interested in this one myself, but maybe someone's innovation will lead to a really good  idea sometime in the future.

I read that article and watched the video this morning. Cool design but for the money I'll take the five shot mini any day.

I picked on up last week. It's pretty cool. I don't know how good it is for self defense, but it's probably better than nothing. Maybe a backup to a backup. You're not going to win a draw contest, but if your attacker loses attention on you, thinking you can't hurt him, you could get it out and use it. Definiltely a last-resort-after-your-other-last-resort gun.

But I like odd and unusual guns, so I had to get one. Got it for a little less than retail at about $380 shipped to my local dealer. I like it. It's definite a keeper for me. Will I carry it? Probably. Because it's so easy. But I'll definitely have something else. I have to agree with what many have said: it was too much. It should cost half that. Then again, I still bought it, so others will, too.

If the price comes down a little, I think I'd buy one for the novelty value and just because it's different. I could see an assassin using one in a movie, easy to conceal and one close shot to the head to conclude the mission. Compared to how easy a mini is to conceal, I'm not sure it has much practical SD use.

What a waste...

Agreed.

Took the words right out of my mouth . . .

Funny, I seem to recall comments like that about your precious NAA mini-revolvers. Huh.

Isn't it great how we all get to decide for ourselves what we choose, and what is a waste, and what is not? :D :D :D

Saying "what a waste" is being rather harsh IMO, it's just a matter of if the idea appeals to you or not, having watched lots of spy TV shows and movies as a kid it has a certain appeal in the same way a Colt Peacemaker does from watching too many Westerns. While the Peacemaker would have more practical uses, I'd still be buying it more for the nostalgia and overall experience of ownership than to use it. Each to their own, but for anyone who likes "the curios" of the gun field, this has to be high on their shopping list. It's a shame they couldn't have just gone for a slightly bigger caliber, one shot of 50 BMG would get it done ,they should have take note from Bond's Tank Slayer :)

I want one, and will gladly pay $95 for it!  Otherwise, no.

I think the $95 is the annual card fee, but you do earn airmiles everytime you shoot it. :)

mine  cant post the Lifecard..

I started a thread some time back when it was first being shown as coming to market soon. I said then I wanted one and I still plan on purchasing one. It will sit nicely in one of the vaults next to all the other small and inconspicuous fellows in the same section.

You are correct. It is OK if you want one. Not my choice.  I apologize to whoever I might have offended. My thought was; a 1 shot hard to handle mini-size gun that takes time to open is not in the same category of useful when compared to a 5 shot mini that is ready to go. I have the same problem, to a much lesser degree, with the folding grips- they still take a second to open...
