Thanks for the pics sir

RangerJim

Awesome, Grey!  Thanks for the pics--and for the promise of a side-by-side with the original Ranger ...   :D

I have to admit that if I had received Serial #1, I would never, ever shoot it.  I'd probably just take it out of the safe every once in a while and rub it with a diaper.  To me, it would almost feel like an obligation to keep it in pristine condition--but that's just me.  This one is yours to do with as you will.  Either way, congratulations, sir!  Enjoy!   ;D
So, making guns illegal will take them off the street?
Perfect!  We should probably make heroine and meth illegal, too!

Arts09

Congrats to those who have received there's. Great to finally see a pic of this long awaited gem! Getting #1 doesn't get any better than that either!

I guess everybody would secretly have wished for #1, but in a way I'm glad I didn't get it or even though I bought mine to shoot and carry, I might have to buy another and keep that one in the safe as you say.

Not really, I wished I wouldn't get #1.  I want to shoot mine and if I got #1, I wouldn't want to shoot it,  I am sort of hoping for #79 since that was the number Ionce got from them for my EBs.  Used to be a nice woman there who always sent me #79, it doesn't have a meaning for me but it was the one she always made sure was sent to me.  She has gone off now, don't know if she is retired now or just got a different job.  She even organized my collection, I emailed her all the serial numbers and she sent me a spread sheet with all the model names and when and where they had been made.  She would keep it updated with the new products as they were released and bought too. What a nice lady and I miss her.

Anyone know how long it could be before they ship the models with the 22LR cylinders + Mag cyl ?  Did I miss something about the delay ?

Grayelky is certainly a worthy recipient of EBII001. Over the years he has consistently offered help in locating, purchasing and even transferring firearms free of charge and un solicited. He has also generated interest in NAA's through his store.

Darvell and Uncle Lee would have also been equally worthy imo. I'm glad that it went to one of those three.

Me too! Greyelky got my Hogleg for me, with a serial under 10. I'll yield any claim I might have had on #1!

grayelky

I am overwhelmed by all the kind things so many have had to say. Thank you. I agree, there are several others on here who would be worthy, and if the forum took a vote, one of them would likely win. Again, thank you for the kind words.

I likely will not shoot this one, nor will I shoot the other one, as the EB guns have a special meaning to me.  One day one of my boys, or my grandson, will find themselves the owner of my collection. By having 2 of each, it will make splitting it up easier, should things go that direction. Unlike the original BT, I like this one and will end up getting one to shoot, maybe the 2 1/2" . I have my original BT here at the shop today, and if I get a chance, I will get a couple of pics of them together. It surprised me when I weighed it. The new one is 6.9 ounces, and the Original one is 7.2 ounces, for a whopping difference of .3 ounces. Can't explain it, but it just feels lighter, and better in my hand. If I figure it out, I'll get back to you. I think I will start a new thread when I write up my comparison of the 2. It may not be for a day or 2, so please be patient.

Thanks for the pics! The Ranger II is a nice-looking little gun. I'm hoping they come out with a dedicated .22 LR version with a 2.5" barrel...but that probably won't happen, since it seems like .22 Magnums sell the best. Which is too bad, since I have no use for that caliber and the long, narrow cylinder makes the whole gun look a bit odd to me. :( Still, I'll be very tempted to pick one up someday if I can afford one. I've never owned a break-action revolver before, but they seem like a great idea. :D

Grayelky,  make sure you also post pix of a comparison between the two Rangers.  THAT is something I have been wanting for a while now. 8)

Isn't that supposed to be this week, Jessica Jarvis wrote a post to one of the many threads clarifying the situation and said the conversion models would be a little longer before they were ready so should start shipping the week after the other Rangers. Once they begin shipping it will just be a matter of luck when any particular one is sent to us, as they are sent randomly, there's no pecking order.

I believe you are correct. With any luck those of us that ordered the conversion cylinders should start getting emails next week.

Do you think that the LaserLyte V-Mag Laser grips will work with your Ranger II?  If they do not we may be able to pick the grips up for a song.
