Anyone on the forum besides me have a c&b NAA? I have a Super Companion that I like a lot. I would like to have the black powder version of the Earl. Nobody seems to have had them in stock for quite awhile though, although NAA still shows it as a current model.

The Black Ones can be ordered on line from NAA.  No dealer. Call them.

Keep checking Gunbroker.

And don't give up. It took me a good six months to finally score one on there for a good price...

Call NAA and order one.
You don't need anyone else.

Thanks. I've thought about ordering one, but figure if nobody has them in stock, NAA probably doesn't either. Not really interested in backordering one until they get around to making a run of them. That might be my only option, though.

So, has anyone on here ever even seen a BP Earl?

3F, T7 works well, Goex 4F, better. Remington #11 caps work best. And Mobil one synthetic grease over the ball.
And why Mobil one, you might say ? Well it stays in place here in the Arizona Desert. Types like Bore-Butter simply melt away as the cylinder gets hot.
NAA, Super Companions are fun, I own one.

I've used non-approved powder in mine.  8)
When I got it, I was out of 4F so I tried 3F Goex. It was completely worthless with that powder. One of these days I intend to get some Swiss 4F and some Swiss Null-B to test.

Grind your own.  I will post how to do it safely latter. static is not your friend.

#11 caps, that is what the manual says and what fits best for mine.  I have made my own BP and shot it, it was back when I made my own fireworks before I moved to town.  Now I use substitute Powder because there is no where around to get real BP, I love the Swiss stuff, it makes the best stinky smoke.  The only way to get it though, for me, is to order it and pay the HazMat fee.  I may do this if I can find some folks who live near enough to be able to split buying some, you are allowed to own and keep 50 pounds in a home and not need to have a proper magazine.  I try to keep 49 pounds so I don't have to worry if my neighbors decide to call a policeman to see what I am doing wrong.  I only shoot when at the range now since I no longer have a big enough place to make my own range.

Anyway, the 3F and 4F BP substitute works fine for me, so I suppose until I am able to go to Friendship Indiana's BP festival or manage to get a group buy, that is what I will use.

Yep. But you won't post later. If you do, you'll get Flamed. By all the self-righteous Do-Gooders. Keep your Dangerous, Wicked, fine-powder and Smokeless-Powder comments to Yourself.

I know how, but thanks for the offer. In fact I make my own black powder too, but I would still like to get some Swiss 4F and Null-B as a baseline for testing, if nothing else.
