Holster grip

So I picked up the folding holster grip today and decided to put it on my black widow this afternoon. I read the instructions, especially the part about not over tightening the hinge screw piece. But guess what I did. I wanted to get it just a little tighter and heard snap. Shortly thereafter a few choice words were said. It wouldn't be so bad but now my black widow is out of service because the stock grips on it were old and loose.  The nutsert piece was just spinning and I had to rip it out to get the grip off.
Guess I'll be calling tomorrow to see if they sell just the hinge piece and a set of new black widow grips. Knowing my luck they'll show up the day after I leave town for the holidays.

This is all a very good way to end a year.
Just don't start one like this.

When the new parts come,  find the tiniest screwdriver that you can find, then coat it with vaseline. Then crank away, you should have no problem.

;D ;D ;D  ::) ::)  ???
Sorry, couldn't resist!   It doesn't take much torque to secure these grips. I hand tighten mine then finish with a light touch of a properly :D sized screwdriver. Think "inch pounds" not "foot pounds". A small amount of play is to be expected, hence the nickname "floppy wobblers"!

Good luck to you and keep us posted as to how it works out.

Merry Christmas.  We've all pulled a stunt like that.  Keeps us humble.

MikeN hasn't posted in a long time, but he had a way to tighten up his rosewood grips and I used the process on the folding grips and it did a nice job on them.
I don't know how to instruct you to get to the post he made, other than to tell you to do a search on his name and click on his posts he only has 11, might be something that will help you and then again maybe not.

Thanks I'll search and see what I can find. It seems like I'm always overtightening things and breaking them. On a good note though my sidewinder is supposed to be delivered today. I had to send it back due to some markings on the cylinder.

Thanks for your help Pat, I'm not very good at doing things like this.
