My new 22 Short Watch Chain anchor!

Just picked this up from my local gunsmith.  He put a little pocket watch part on the frame of my latest 22 Short NAA Mini so I could hook my chain to it.  When Rick Jorgenson has my holster done, I will have this all done.  I bought the watch on EBay and it had a little folding knife as the chain anchor.  I was sitting at home and doing some thinking and I thought that maybe if I could get an eyelet put on my 22 Short, I could use it instead of the knife.  So I took it to a local gunsmith and he did this with my NAA 22 Short and now I am happy, this is a great little Back Up Gun as I doubt anyone will ever think of this set up. m Any way it goes though, I think this is great and with my carry permit, will make it all good.

Looks smart Warty. When you pull that smoke wagon though I believe your nice pocket watch is going to be slinging all over the place, no?

Well, IDK, the chain is pretty long and the pocket in my overalls holds the watch well.  I have tried it a few times and didn't pull the watch out.  Even if I do though, I should still be able to hit the Bad Guy at the range this would be used. ;)

I would guess if push comes to shove that after you fire your five at the bad guy you could always use the watch end as a flail to finish him off.  ;D

Very nice. The Russians used to carry their Nagant revolvers on Lanyards in World War I, presumably so they wouldn't get lost.

Gog

The cool factor is high with that setup!!

Warthog

Top Dog, sorry, I think I am gonna keep it. 8)

The watch was only $20 on EBAY, I had a local watch guy clean the innards so it would keep running, it would stop now and then.  Of course you know where to get a 22 Short and how much, then the local smith only charged me $40 to get the eyelet, from an old pocket watch, on it.  All in all I thought it worked out well and didn't wind up costing me more than I really wanted to pay.

Looks Cool, Great backup and conversation piece. I sent my short to NAA last week to get a lanyard ring attached. Like your set up with the pocket watch. Hope you don't mind if I copy your idea. Can you still get a good grip to shoot? :)

When you get your gun back, I would like to see it, to see how it is installed. I made one for my short from a turned down ss socket head bolt. There is a picture on here somewhere. Thinking about one that's made  from a stud, for my Earl.
As for antique pocket watches, been there also. Don't know how many I have, but had about 40 of then running for one of my granddaughters  the other day. She loved the movements. No battery.
One of my watches was part of another granddaughter's wedding a couple of years ago. Now,back to lanyards....

That's really sharp Warty. Those little purple grips set it off as well.

Didn't NAA offer at one time an option for a lanyard attachment at the bottom of the grip so it would not interfere with your palm on the grip?
It may be small but as long as it's loaded ,pointed in the right direction, and goes bang, I'm happy :)

Love it, Warty!  It was definitely worth the wait!

Now, you need to post a pic showing how you wear it in your overalls.  Such an inspired idea, though, Warty.  Nicely done, sir!   :D
So, making guns illegal will take them off the street?
Perfect!  We should probably make heroine and meth illegal, too!

Very sharp, Warty!!  Classy eye candy!
Makes me think.  There's plenty of cool interesting things out there that I've seen and been allowed to try out but also to be aware that I could never own, like the mid-60's AC Ford Cobra, or the select fire silenced Ingram M11/9 in it's attache case.  Way cool but out of reach.  The neat thing about that little eye-catching watch rig is it's rare and VERY classy but attainable. Enjoy!!!

NICE!!  I wish I could pull off a pocket watch, with chain.

Thats awesome, I love different ideas. Keep it up.

I don't mind if you all take this idea and run with it and never even give me credit.  I am not a person who seeks fame. 8)

The pocket watch isn't an antique, it runs on a battery.  I don't have to wind it or mess with it except in months with less than 31 days, then I have to fix the date.  I like pocket watched and wish they would make a come back but it seems the cell phone has made a watch in general most folks don't feel the need for, I don't have a cell phone nor do I want one.  I guess if I could find a few pocket watches that I liked, especially a copper colored one, I might have a few so that I could change things now and then.  For the money I have in this set up, it is hard to beat.  The watch and the knife that came with it have a large "R" engraved on them, that doesn't really fit my name at all, no name with "R" as a beginning.  Other than that though, it is a great watch and keeps the time well.

When I get the holster and have it all done I will post more pix of this with everything as I wear it.

You've all seen my watch ... Not sure I could make the pocket watch thing work, but it looks good.

Nice, Warty. At least you'll know when it's time to shoot!

Squeezle, Below is the NAA with Lanyard that NAA made a few years back. Personally I don't like the location of the ring. Warty's looks a lot better and the one I sent in , I requested the ring be installed closer to the bottom of the 22 short. NAA will still attach lanyard ring for $12.00, but you must pay shipping both ways.

I agree--I always thought the placement of the lanyard ring was strange. I like Warty's much better. It might be cool to integrate a rear sight into a lanyard ring, hmm.

The watch is to see how many minutes it takes the bad guy to fall over after you put 5 shorts in him  ;D

What would be cool is a pocket watch that's really a smart phone.

Warthog

Yeah, I had one those lanyard ring 22LRs while back but sold it to a neighbor. :(

That would have been less expensive though, the NAA Lanyard Ring.  I just wanted the whole deal to look as good as possible.  I understand that this sort of watch isn't for everyone.  I do it this way because I wanted to make this work.  ;)

If only your holster guy would get the holster done for it!!! lol!!

You wanted purple leather and black & blue thread?  I forgot now....  :o

We had better talk about this again.  I've put it on the back burner so many times after talking about it.... I'm confused! lol!   :o

Thanks, I knew I had seen the lanyard toward the bottom before.
