My Ranger II (quick) range report

Got my Ranger II yesterday #138
Today, I got home in time for a quick test before darkness. I fired 15 rounds from each cylinder. Started with the lr's. Just some CCI .22's. Can't remember which ones but I do remember the box said "just choot 'em"...
I did not clean the lr cylinder first as I cleaned the gun at work today and forgot the lr one so it was filthy. All 15 fired just fine but they were stuck like heck in the cylinder and I had to push the shells out with a rod from my BW. All 15 were like that.
The 15 magnums all shot like a dream. Every shot just fine and just opening the action pushed the shells up just like I was hoping it would. I could even turn it over and they fell out. Just awesome! Shot all Gold Dots with Magnums.

I was shooting high with both the lr's and the magnums. I'm used to and love my BW grips so these little things were a little tough to get the hang of but I did okay.

Shot everything at 15 feet. 3 cylinders with both lr's and magnums.

Very pleased so far!!

Thanks for the report Gog. So are you saying you cleaned the gun before you fired it but didn't clean the lr cylinder because you forgot it at home? And maybe that's why the were sticking. Maybe I read it wrong. I still haven't fired mine (next week) but I have given it a thorough cleaning while inspecting it. We'll see next week if it needs a little tweaking.

That's exactly what I'm saying. The lr cyl was really dirty too so that's probably it. We'll see when I get more time to play. I plan on staying with the magnum anyway and glad that was so smooth!

As I remember so was mine. It had a bunch of fuzz in it. Slipped my mind.

I must say that I cleaned both cylinders prior to firing but only had time to shoot the Magnum.

So, when I can I will give a range report too.  I guess I would try cleaning the LR Cylinder Gog before shooting it again.

For sure. Will scrub the whole thing down tomorrow.

My LR cylinder seemed quite dirty when I got mine, they must use some dirty ammo on the test fire. I ran a bore snake through the cylinders before testing mine. I had no real trouble with the LR's coming they did get a bit tight again after 20 or 30 rounds of mostly cheap federal bulk ammo, but the extractor could lift them with some effort.
