Black Widow for sure , its a no brainer for quality and ease of use .

The consensus is definitely towards the black widow. I'm hoping to see/handle one at the gun show tomorrow. One question that keeps lingering in my mind is the 2.5 inch models, and what kind of velocities could be expected. Has anyone ever chronographed a 2.5" model in an NAA 22WMR, and have any results they could share?  I'm surprised NAA has no data on this barrel length, and I've scoured the web and can't find any specific 2.5" NAA ballistics either. I know there's a big jump in velocity from the 1-5/8" models to the 2" black widow. BTW, I've already seen the ballistics by the inch website, but not sure if they separate the cylinder length from the barrel length which makes a big difference.

AFAIK the universally accepted standard for barrel length on a revolver is measured from the front of the cylinder to the muzzle.  I don't know why ballistics by the inch would use any other method.

Looking at the BO II, it could be the next gun to give the BW a run for best carry. The combo of 1.5 barrel (which makes it a shorter overall gun), and the White dot sight could be a good carry. It could at least match the Pug as #2...Maybe they could offer the option of multiple grip colors (JK)...

The difference between a 2.0"" barrel BW and a 2.5 inch Sheriff would be approximately 100 fps with Gold Dots, and a little less with the Hornady's; assuming you plan to use 22 mag SD ammo.

According to most sources, The BW gets 1150 out of the Gold Dots  the Hornady's 1100. Out of my 4" CA the Gold Dots are at 1350, the Hornady's are at 1275. Highest velocity? The CCI maxi mag HP+v 30 gr; out of the BW 1300, out of the CA 4" 1510. NAA doesn't list the SD ammo, but for a 15/8 it list the CCI HP+v at 1150 and the maxi Mag 40 grain at 848...

Oh, and I only carry one, and a reload pouch...If it fails, then maybe it is my time, I am not a walking arsenal...

"You need two mini's anyways since they really work better as a pair. There's been a ton studies done, and something like 99.9999% of civilian self defense shootings are over in something like 1.7 shots. The massive odds are you won't ever have to reload in a fight. That's the stuff of gun magazine fantasies. Unless you're a LEO or some sort of 'operative' it ain't gonna happen. If your really worred about it, just carry a spare mini. Their so small it's the easiest solution. The New York reload works very well. "

I don't plan on any kind of a reload. I carry 2 so if I start to cock it and the hammer spring breaks ---- it could. I have a spare.
I don't carry spare mags for my 9mm's. I carry a spare pistol. One may fail.

I worked in maintenance for 50 years and believe that all mechanical devices can and will at sometime fail. I don't care what it is or how much it costs.

Let us know when you have made your choice. My bet is that you'll end up with more than one mini anyways.

Right my currency edc is usually my sidewinder in mag and my mini mag.

As soon as I make sure my ranger twos are fit they'll be the pair I carry.

I guess it doesn't really matter all that much which mini one chooses. If one is carrying a mini, it is because they want something that is small and light weight, something that they can carry all of the time, and something which would be relatively effective in stopping an attack at very short range. Any mini is capable of those tasks. I am not sure that I would want to pocket carry a 4 inch Earl or a Mini Master (I think pocket carrying either of those would result in a lot of snide comments or embarrassing questions!), but it could still be managed. As you may have noticed, we all have our favorites, but most of us have several models NAAs anyway. So get whichever one that want. You can always get another one later on. But the BW really is the best choice  ;D
