Received my EB Ranger #117 back from NAA today. According to repair sheet the cylinder pin's were replaced and both cylinders were re-reamed. They were pretty dirty, so they did test fire them. Didn't notice a lot of change in wobble at pivot point, as it was not that bad compared to some I've seen. I guess it was within tolerances. Will get to the range next week and put a few rounds through it and report back.

What was your reason for sending back? Mine went back with cylinder "rings" as well. I figured the gun would be looked over and repairs made without stating every noticeable problem. NOT. STILL have rings in cylinders... oh well

Mine still hasn't come back from its third trip. How long do most wait, I've been about 10 business days each time which is 14 or so Cal days. :(

Mine have been there for nearly 3 weeks. supposed to ship back this coming week. I hope they are spending enough time and effort on each returned Ranger to prevent the second and third returns.

I don't understand how a company that is so quality conscience can let so many problems leave the factory. I think if I was in Sandy's place I'd want some answers! No company can afford a bad quality rap. You build a great image for quality over years and years - and you can lose it in a few months.

Sorry guys they were too busy working on mine to get to yours :)

I think mine was gone for 10-14 days between when I picked it up and when I dropped it off, however with mine I told them I wasn't in a hurry and was happy for them to take there time including shooting it as I brought it in so they could see the issues first hand. While I'm sure everyone wants a fast turnaround, given the number of returns that's unlikely if they are taking the time to get them right. The hold up with mine now is me, I haven't had a chance to go to the range to see if it's sorted fully.

#85's trip in and out of the repair shop was a total of 10 days, my house to my house.  Works great!

Per request, #117 went back for:

1. Wobble at pivot point
2. Spraying lead
3. Cylinder marks

Took about 3 weeks to get back. Will do testing at range next week.

Happy to hear, Ruger!

Good luck, Don!
So, making guns illegal will take them off the street?
Perfect!  We should probably make heroine and meth illegal, too!

Makes me want to shoot mine just to see if they work.
But probably won't.

O.K. I got a question , does anyone on this forum shoot their original Ranger I on a regular basis ? I'm wondering if they are having the same problems and or issues as the Ranger II series ? Sticking empty cartridges don't count because that's not the guns problem .

I got to take my Ranger II out for a range trip after receiving it back from NAA for repairs. I shot 22 Mag (Gold Dots) and 22LR CCI Mini Mags. Everything worked great on the gun, no cylinder lock ups, no miss fires and no cocking problems. I also did not hit the release lever at all during firing ( I don't think my thumbs are as long as the guy in the video). Only negative I would have is that it will still spray lead when I fire the 22 mags. About one round out of every 5. I talked to a friend of mine and he says his Ranger I sprayed lead when he first got it and he took it out last month and shot it and same problem with spraying lead. Its a safe queen for him. Maybe if I try some different 22 mag ammo. No problems with 22LR, it works fine with no lead spray. All in all, I think my Ranger II is a good to go gun, just need to see if some different ammo will help with the 22 mag lead spray.

I shot my first Ranger 1 but retired it after I got my Sidewinder.  My 2nd Ranger 1 has never been fired.  I never fired my Ranger 1 that much but never had any issues.
