Okay ... count me in on the group hug ... just do not squeeze too hard! I do like the free flow of ideas here, though I do not contribute nearly as much as I should.

Canoeal - Hopefully things will continue a positive trend.

Al, I am glad you are healing well and quickly, and you news about your wife is terrific!

This forum is a family, with a lot of people of various backgrounds with a common appreciation of firearms and these beauties in particular. We seem to be a group that not only meshes well but provides a lot of leeway for newbies and assorted non-conforming variables. We all have shared enough to care about each other, and have a great capacity to share that attitude with new acquaintances. We come here with the visuals of our travails hidden, and our biases that might keep us apart in a physical meeting are rendered null. We can relate, enjoy this camaraderie and step away from the rest for awhile. Coming here recharges me. I am in for the hug!
And Uncle, your knees didn't happen - no pictures!

I'm probably the only one with this choice but I think the coolest gun I own is my NAA short. Would hate to give up the Widow but I'd have to keep my short!!!!

zburkett

My usual carry is a 1 5/8" lr mini with folding grip.  Sometimes I carry my mag when I think I might need a little more oomph.  For my holster gun it is an Earl with BW grip: but, sometimes I carry a short when I need it really canceled.  So, if I could only keep one I would lie and keep them all.

WECSOG

This is indeed a great group of folks, and I'm happy to be part of it.
I already commented on what NAA I would get if I could only have one: Black Widow.
Right now if I could keep the ones I already have and just have one more, it would be the cap and ball Earl.

Only one?  Something like TBR's Bicycle Gun, but based on a magnum frame, with interchangeable cylinders (.22LR or .22 magnum).  Maybe a breaktop or sidewinder style and with good adjustable peep sights.

Or a Pug... if limited to current options ;)

WECSOG

Ok, so who is TBR? And where can I find more information about his bicycle gun? Google had never heard of it either.

Thanks.
That's a pet peeve of mine; people who use abbreviations and assume everybody knows exactly what they're talking about.  It just saves so much time you know, after they have to then go back and explain what the abbreviation means.  :o
Kind of like the people who use "u" as if that is a word.

My Pug w/Tritium Night Sights, and my BW W/BootGrips...but my new favorite is my Ranger II! I usually carry it along with a Bond Arms Derringer in either 44 Special, 38/357, or 45/410! Usually carry 4 extra rounds for the Bond Arms and just the 5 in the Ranger II! Figure this combo will stop most any problem I run into! I just ordered the Bond Arms Old Glory TV Special, which comes with an extra barrel in 38/357, and a Driving Holster as part of the deal. Also comes w/a discount on FFL Transfer, a $50 coupon on a future purchase of $200.00 or more, free shipping, and a few other perks! The Derringer can be had a bit cheaper...but comes with only a pocket holster (already have one!) and no coupons or discounts! You get what youse pay for!
I have 5 NAAs, an original Mini, a Pug, an EB Sidewinder, a BW with Boot Grips, and now the Ranger II!
I'm an NAA nut...nothing like uncle_lee, but I try!

Doc I would thoroughly range test the Ranger II before using it as EDC, I mean like 2 or 300 rounds with  no problems. Several people have reported cocking and or ejection problem after 50 round or more myself included.NAA will fix any problems but please make sure its right before you trust your life to it :)

I think I'll stick with my Black Widow with the two cylinders.  It just feels right.  Now when the XS sights come out it will be PERFECT!

Thanks Bigbird48,
Yup..I know the drill...always wring them out at the range first! I'll tell a little story that could have cost me or a citizen I was trying to protect ( when a young LEO) our lives! This was way back when our Agency, a large metropolitan Sherrifs Office still carried wheel guns! I wanted a larger custom fancy wooden grip and mistakenly took another officers word that he could do the job. A few months later, after carrying the d**g thing on duty constantly, I was at the Departmental Range for quaifications. The revolver would not fire...light strikes. The range officer stripped it down and found the problem. The idiot who did the job could not get the new grips to fit right, so he had altered the spring. And the other idiot who carried the gun on duty for several months (that would be me!) didn't bother to take it to the range and check its functioning! Life lesson learned!

Mr. Mini,
With Rick's holster it brings it in close but not uncomfortable.

I have several carry holsters, from other companies, for my other EDC's that the grip digs into your side when you sit down or drive.

Not so for me with the Black Widow and CV grips in Rick's set up.  Tucked in close and comfy.
I forget it is there during the day.  Here in hot Arizona I wear my shirt tail out and no printing at all with it.

On the pancake for the regular Magnum Mini with the small grips, I find myself checking to make sure it is there. Very easy to carry all day. Leaves room in the pocket for the cell phone and wallet.

I also have one of Rick's pancakes for my Glock 43 and it is also a pleasure to wear.  My Son in Law carries a Ruger LC9 in one and loves it.

I carry my Black Widow everywhere on my belt, the post office, the doctors, bars, I even carried it into a casino once by mistake as I didn't even think about it as a real No No ::)  and no one ever noticed. My T-shirt hangs down over it and you can't even tell its there. :)

Since June 5th (2018) I've been carrying 2 pistols in Rick's pancake holsters: a NAA Pug with oversized grips and a Sig P365 9mm.  I normally wear a t-shirt and a button up over it (unbuttoned) for concealment and to have a good chest pocket for glasses, cell phone, etc.  Unless the wind blows around the outer shirt, most people never notice that I'm carrying.  I carry the P365 at 3 o'clock and swap up carrying the Pug at 5 or 9 o'clock.

My preferred carry has been inside-the-waistband using an Alien Gear 3.0.  They finally started shipping a shell for the P365 to fit the Cloak Tuck IWB holster.  I bought one, but haven't even pulled it out of the package.  I'm quite happy with the pancake holsters I bought from Rick and have no desire to change my current carry method.

By the way, mine was the first Sig P365 holster that Rick made and he did an excellent job!  If you want to see a couple of photos, scroll through the few post in this thread:

..if I could only have one would have to be my shorty...why?  because its cute as a button !!
It may be small but as long as it's loaded ,pointed in the right direction, and goes bang, I'm happy :)

I'm a lurker.  I was hoping this post would narrow it down to 2.  I think you guys listed almost everything.  I went with my gut and bought my first.  Its a 1 1/8 mini mag.  It "is", my only one.  I love it and it feels great in the pocket.

I agree! If that shorty is soo cute then we need a photo!!

If I could only have one? Tough call. For the longest, I carried a .22LR 1 1/8th in my pocket. Then with age, the muzzle flip began to bother me and now I carry a .22LR 1 5/8th. All in all, I've been toting a NAA mini-revolver for over 25 years.

Having said that, I'd opt for a 1 5/8th Case Hardened model in 22WMR with a 22LR cylinder plus the wood CVang grips. I like the original models but if I could only have one, I'd like a little uniqueness to it.

The poor man. Thinks it's the only one. Little does he know the seductive power of the Mini! I think I'm at 15 now - but I'm sorta afraid to count. Doesn't matter how many or which ones you have - the most interesting Mini is the next one you're gonna buy!

The thread about the Hogleg got me thinking on this.  I've got three and in my view they serve different functions, so I don't think I could de-select down to only one.  The Spanish Fork 22LR for carry when wearing lightweight clothes, the 1 5/8" 22mag for much of the time but not all, and the 4" 22mag Earl for hiking. Except for Big Medicine (my 6 1/2" 357 Blackhawk) that's it. For now. heh heh.
Be well all, Boise Steve
