Just ordered my first NAA. From reading and looking around I decided on a Pug with the conversion cylinder. Thanks for all the info and good reading. Going to deep dive into the ammo and holster posts and options now. Any break in tips, ammo, and holster thoughts are always welcome.

Welcome to the forum eastex. Sounds like you made a good choice with the Pug. It's my favorite mini and most carried. As far as holsters are concerned Rick at desert gun leather makes awesome high quality products for most all of the mini line up. I have one of his pocket holsters for my Pug. Two other brands I have found that I also like are ragsdale holsters and also sticky holsters. Do some research and when you decide on a winner toss up some pics for us to see.

First, Welcome!

I will echo the Dessert Gun Leather. I have several of his holsters and a gun belt. Quality product and quality workmanship.

For carry ammo, my personal first choice is Hornady Critical Defense, with Speer Gold Dot a very close second choice. For practice, whatever you find affordable works nicely.

Welcome to the Forum! The Pug is a necessity for those of us that are addicted collectors of NAA's (We really want all of them and 2 of some!) lol!!

Break in tips (I am no expert, this is what works for me)  Handle the gun a lot!   Get comfortable loading & unloading the cylinders.  Get comfortable putting the Hammer on a Safety Notch.  Remove & Reload multiple times.  Make sure there is a lite coat of oil on moving parts, this really helps pieces to slide the way they are supposed to.

Ammo (again, not an expert). I shoot whatever I can buy reasonable for .22lr.
For .22 Mag  I stick with name brands mostly CCI.    I am not a good enough marksman to tell if one is better than another as far as grouping.  I'm glad to hit the paper target! lol!!  But I keep practicing and have taken a couple lessons which really helps.

Holster thoughts (Hold my Beer, I know a little something about this one)  The Pug can be carried anywhere a holster has been designed for or can be imagined.
Preferred method of this Forum...

Pocket Holster
These are available with a snap pocket on board in some different configurations to carry a reload
* 5 extra Shell snap pouch
* DS-10 Speed Reloader
* Extra Cylinder (with 5 shells loaded in it)

Strong Side Carry
Pancake type holster with a belt slot in front of the gun & one behind the gun (one of my favorites for the Pug)

Cross-Draw Carry
Holster is on the opposite hip than hand you draw with (Rt Hand, Gun is on the left hip). People with shoulder issues like to carry this way, it makes for an easy draw without lifting your shoulder.  Plus, it looks cool!

IWB  Inside Waist Band
Just like it says,  its in your pants.  Metal clip to hold it to your pants and/or your belt or a leather snap loop for your belt.  They come in a "Tuck-able" version so you can tuck your shirt in and not see the gun or grips.

Hope this helps.  Feel free to ask me any questions you may have, PM here on the Forum or my email.   Call me if you would like.

Here are a few photos of different styles of holsters (not all are of a Pug)
