Short version: If you have been waiting on improvements to buy your Ranger, go place your order and get in line.

Interesting. Vendors? For which parts?

Whether the Rangers are getting better only time will tell. I hate to sound selfish, but no matter how many Ranger II's are built, there are only two that matter to me.

My thought process is "great they think they got it fixed". Now I wait to see user reports...

Lesson from this saga is that sometimes it's best not to be first in line. I remember what they used to say about buying a new car? Never buy the first model year, let them work out the bugs first.

hmm... i wonder what kind of improvements to the Sidewinder? enough to make it worthwhile to send mine back?

Yea I did that once; a 1978 Fiat Strata. Worst car buying mistake of my life.

The only trouble with waiting the prices usually go up like my Ranger 1 's . One was $600 another $650 yet another $700 + an another was $900 . Was able to unload two for a very good profit and made up the differences .

I'm still good with getting in on the EB purchase. I knew full well that I may have to send it back for some issues so I was prepared and accept that. Mine has gone back once and chances are I will be sending it back once more for a final work over. I'm just waiting til I'm confident that they are producing a fine tuned machine. I've got many other guns to play with.

Ditto, the only negative is the more fun I have with my other guns that all function flawlessly, the less enamoured I am with my temperamental Ranger. I go to the range to relax, it's s little like riding my motorcycles in as much as when I'm doing it, that's all I'm thinking about. Whether guns or motorcycles, I find anything that detracts from my pure fun, irritating. I'm sure they will get them sorted and there will be a good time to return it for a final fettle, currently it's moving closer to the back of my gun cabinet as everyday passes.

The reality is with the Ranger 2's I would not buy a used Early Bird, I would buy a new one.
