Some Photos and a quick update if you have ordered a holster from us.....

First...  Thank you!  We are humbled by the support you show in the Forum Threads for us, when a new owner asks about a holster many times I see my name and/or the shop named by you with the web address to help them out.  Thank you again!

Second... Production update... We are running at about a two week lead time for production after orders are placed.  When you add the Postal Service delivery time, it makes it about 2 1/2 weeks to get orders to you.   We are trying to shorten that.

We had an issue with a supplier, really it was with the leather they sent, the supplier was totally up front with the fact the surface finish of the leather was different.  We were getting the Chestnut from them.  We tried it and could not work with it.  They were really good about refund and return shipping but it all took time then... the research to find a replacement began.... it was under our nose the whole time!

The supplier we get our other leather from has the color we need and in #1 hides.  This whole process took about 2 weeks to get worked out,  not being able to make that color holster for 2 weeks set production back some.

Back on track now!  Better than before  :)

The goal is for most pocket holsters to be sent next day after ordering in Black or Chestnut.  Hopefully in about 30 days we will be there! Then we'll work on the others!  ;)

We need to catch up before we can get ahead!  ;)

I was moving some photos around the website and updating photos to show some that are current.

The Ranger II has had the most "different" styles asked for in the short amount of time it has been out.

Here is a few that have been done by us at www.DesertGunLeather.com

They all look beautiful Rick and incorporating that speed loader is fantastic . Was hoping someone would come up with that one , very useful . Thanks for the pictures for sure . Hey did the Freedom Arms flap holster ever become anything ? One of the best concealed carry pieces ever to come down the pike .

Rick; 2.5 weeks wait time on a hand made leather holster is nothing. I could not see anybody being upset because they had to wait 2.5 weeks on a holster made to your specs. Worry not.  ;D

I've done some "Leatherman" cases that are similar to the Freedom Arms Flap Holster.

The soft leather "insert" that holds the gun can be put in.

This is a little narrower I think but can be made any size.  The front is pre-formed with a "Buck & Form" frame and then assembled.

Very fine stout looking piece Rick but it does need to be wider for concealed carry , at least the flap needs to cover the butt and trigger of the gun . Love the leather though , thanks .

I'm sure there's a good reason that I'm just not seeing, but why are the "hammer cover" portions of your holsters so pronounced?  I would think that after a few years of daily carry, the inside edge of my jeans pockets would start to wear through.  Have you ever made any with the whole top frame/hammer side a little straighter?

I have a belt with matching holster made by Rick for my Kimber 3" 1911 in .45. Once again I can carry my 45, all day, w/o issue. It is amazing the difference a good, quality belt will make in the comfort carrying department!

Rick,

I like the looks of that Leatherman style holster.  Can you show a pic of one with the pistol in it please?  And what is the 'soft leather insert'?  And prices?

Thanks.

I think the top point above the hammer is meant aid in pushing down with your thumb, to remove the gun from the holster. At least that is my understanding of it...
