See this prior posting for how I added Revision CV / CVang Grips (click for link) to my new Ranger II.

I finally got her out to the range today, and for sure, she was much more shootable with better handling. Although I'll admit, the heavy trigger pull -- which is likely a safety feature on a gun this tiny -- is still something to be reckoned with, even though I'm not going for target accuracy.

Still, one likes to get decent groups, right?  Here's how she shot at 5 yards...

Some of those Hornady Critical Defense rounds seemed to be key-holing...

I'm sure that would hurt like h*ck and make a wicked wound channel, but I'm not sure what I think about that -- other than I wouldn't want to get hit with it.  I'll have to do some more tests and some online research to see if this is a known issue...

But I'm curious about what do you'all think?

Well, haven't had a chance to shoot mine much so I can't say.  Also, I use GCI Fold Dots, not Critical Defense so I don't really know how they work in any Minis.

I only see one hole that shows no evidence at all of keyholing. I would try to find some ammo that doesn't do that, myself.

How many rounds did you end up firing total? Did she function properly?

I have to ask.......how did you aim? Your hits are pretty good around center.

Mine is about 10" high at that distance if I line up the sights normally.

I basically line up on the front sight, then "bury it" and then it shoots close to point of aim.  If I see "all" the front sight, then mine will shoot wicked high like yours.

great shooting! i'd be very happy with that accuracy with that short barrel!

i'd try some other ammo (no reason to use high-priced .22 mag rounds in any of these pistols, IMO)... i don't get any keyholes with my Sidewinder running .22LR or .22mag, but i did get keyholes with my mini mag...

i think you have a keeper there!

now if only i could get my hands on one...

I'll have to give that a try
