A short but positive review of the NAA 22 short revolver.

Nice review but I think that the real life distance for that gun would be maybe 8 feet maximum.

I ,so far, have never experienced any keyholing problems with ine.

My hands look just like that after firing my minis. Makes sure and scrub up real good if you've got a flight to catch. TSA might frown on the gunpowder residue 😄

The real life distance for any gun is how far you can accurately shoot it.
Why limit yourself to, say, 8 feet?

Because real world muggings and other kinds of assaults are at bad breath distance. Little more than arms length. Car jackings are from the drivers seat to just outside the door/window, about three feet. Not to mention the mini is in the same class as the old derringers, that of a very close range weapon. Why try to make it something it ain't? If you're uncomfortable at that close a range, get a bigger gun and stay out of that part of town.

How in the world did i miss that YouTube video?  While i was waiting to get mine i thought i had looked at every Short Mini video out there.

Cool vid review.  I haven't had mine keyhole either.  It shoots well and I do practice with it beyond 8 feet though the case for muggings being close up is correct.

Is there really much practical use for the 22 short version?  I bought the 22 lr version because I can pack it anywhere, is the 22 short version really any more packable?  Or is it just a really cool novelty?

well, you can get a holster that's a belt buckle...

:D

never handled one, but i have the .22 mini mag - small enough... can't imagine the shorty, but very cool that you can also get a kydex necklace for the shorty - take it jogging or for walks in the park or on the beach while wearing swimming trunks...

heck, for that matter, you could just stick the shorty in your swim trunk pocket and take it swimming..

:P

if i ever run across a shorty at a good price i'll buy one...

The first one I bought keyholed very badly. When I looked down the barrel there was no trace of any rifling. The one I have now is better but I doubt that such a short barrel can impart much spin on such a short bullet. I would also expect the same on the very lightweight bullets in the short barreled .22 L R  & magnum pistols.

The .22 Short may be little - but it can be a BIG surprise to a bad guy.
