I posted these a few years ago from a 1 1/2" Sidewinder, thought some folks would like to see the incremental difference between the 1 1/2" & 1 5/8" of the Ranger II

First post in the thread is RII...

Bigbird48

totally missed that LOL  ;D thanks

Django2442

Not much work OG, just step outside, hardest part is getting the chronograph level in all directions to get the most accurate reading, plus the Sidewinder data is from a few years back, at some point I'll chrono my wife's pug, when I get a chance I'll pull my Bond Arms results together and post those in the "Other Guns" section if anyone expresses any interest.

Here's the .22lr results from the 1 1/2" Sidewinder, I do not have the conversion cylinder for the Ranger II unfortunately.

A man with too much time on his hands and we really appreciate it  ;D

Thank you for taking the time and effort to do all of this work and the time to assemble all of the information into a cohesive document.

Now WE need to set down and study the results and make decisions on what should be fed to our favorite model.

Says the guy with 601 post......just kidding

MTGoat, not too much time on my hands, the same 24hrs as everyone else, I'm a get up at 3am guy, been like that for over 20 years, I just try and use up the 24hrs a day the best I can, and enjoy shooting and reloading, plus I get to shoot right outside on my property.

A man with too much time on his hands and we really appreciate it  ;D

Thank you for taking the time and effort to do all of this work and the time to assemble all of the information into a cohesive document.

Now WE need to set down and study the results and make decisions on what should be fed to our favorite model.

Don't take me wrong but all this fascination with velocities confounds me . Why is it important or is it just something to do with lots of spare time , something I don't have for sure .
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

It depends on the use case.  The velocity (and bullet weight) directly relates to how much energy is imparted to the target. With small caliber pistols like the NAAs, every little bit helps.

In shooting 22 rifle, one of the things I look for is consistency in ballistics.  Short range (25 to 50 yards) it normally doesn't make a whole lot of difference unless there is a huge change.  But when you stretch it out to 100 yards and beyond, you can see the difference when a round is above or below the normal range of speed. I'm currently using CCI SV 22LR for local matches.  I've found that some lot numbers of SV perform significantly better than others.

Just yesterday one of the guys at the range was all over the target at 50 yards and couldn't figure out what he was doing wrong.  I loaded up one of his mags with a known good lot of my SV and he was hitting bulls-eyes again.

Too much time on one's hands is commenting to a thread, on a forum, on a subject you have no interest in, and having absolutely nothing to contribute, which you have done with the two velocity threads I've posted ...... almost 9000 post, how hours have you logged in front of the commuter screen? It appears you have plenty of time to spare.
But hey, congratulations on wasting my time and the almost 9000 post.

I guess you took me wrong afterall . Oh Well . ;).........................................................And about the posting time and numbers its not easy driving the work truck while typing with one hand while answering the phone holding a cigarette drinking a bottle of iced tea and scratching my as* all the while trying to keep the speed limit but I'm still able to keep my post count up there . Thanks for recognizing my efforts .;)

Dang, Fellas! We seem to be running a bit low on brotherly love on this thread.

I don't necessarily understand a lot of the ballistics info but I'm studying on it and I really appreciate the efforts that our fellow Forumites have put into reporting their findings. I am disappointed to see the wide variance of results but I suppose a lot of that is inherent with rim-fire ammo.
