Interested in the 1860 Earl in black powder and wondering how loud it is.

I had a black powder.38 (I think) 40 years ago, that is the extent of my BP experience. I'm not allowed to "discharge firearms " in the township I live in but...if I can do so "quietly " I would do it.

Any insight is appreciated.

Please no lectures on not "breaking the law ", that would be my problem.

None of the minis are quiet.

22 quiet out of my bolt action is quiet.

Yes, your neighbors will probably call the cops when they hear it. And yes, they will hear it.

Got in on this late, but back in the day, I played with a .36 blackpowder revolver. Seemed just as loud as my target 38 special loads.  If anything, not so much a "crack" with the  B/P .36.  I would not shoot one in your situation unless your neighbors are deaf.
