.22 "Short" Driving Holster

I thought this was a fun project.

Driving Holsters seem to be very popular so I thought "Why not for a "Shorty"?

The .22 short gets ignored in the Holster World so I've been making some and taking photos.

The back has a "Belt Loop" that needs to be threaded on your belt.

I tried a couple different types of "strap" for a "quick on, quick off" like a traditional Driving Holster but they didn't look right or work well.

There is one more idea I had after finishing this I will try that I think will work. (the next one!)

Comments, critiques, suggestions are all welcome.  This is a work in progress and I am always willing to improve a design!

Your suggestions from the "Field use" have always helped me make a better Holster!  Thank you for that!

Do any of you carry a Short as a EDC?  If so, what works for you? What would work better?

Thanks for looking!  ;)

Rick, your right about the .22 short having few holsters available.  I'm surprised no one has asked for a Black Widow pocket holster with a .22 short mini holster where you put the spare ammo pocket.  A holster on a holster.  I'm kidding.  Don't make one.  Good job on this one though.

I used to carry my short as EDC on ocassion before I got my 22lr mini..I stuck it in my bib overalls watch pocket on the front..it was ok unless I bent over, then it would tumble out..I thought about getting a holster from Rick for my bib large pocket in front (like he made for someone) but my bib front pockets are all different sizes due to differnt brands,  so now I am not sure where to put my short or my lr mini..
It may be small but as long as it's loaded ,pointed in the right direction, and goes bang, I'm happy :)

Measure the smallest pocket and go with that.  A "Rough-Out" holster will/should stay in better than just the gun and nothing around it.

The Rough-Out "Slide" made from Oil-Tan leather would help and won't break the bank to find out.

Send me an email with the smallest pocket in your Bib Over All collection  ;) and which gun you want to put in it.  I'll work with you to get something that will keep those Mini's in your pocket and safe!

Squeezie, before I bought my Pocket Watch, I would carry a 22 short Mini in the watch pocket too.  Never fell out, get some KEY overalls, I think they are best of them...the watch pocket is deeper though it was still easy to draw the Mini out and shoot it.  I carry one that way along with another firearm in my front pocket or in a Smart Carry behind the bib of the overalls for a long time and was never stopped and asked for my permit, even in places (like the Mall) where one wasn't to carry. 8)

Thanks Rick, will measure :) Thanks Warty, yeah I love my Keys , those pictured are libertys. I usually carry my other firearm in a side pocket with a Remora holster. A girl can never have too many guns  ;)

I pick her up tomorrow Rick and this weekend is a gun show so I'm sure I'll find some ammo to chew up and spit out. Next Wednesday I'll probably take it and my Bug II out for some fun.
