Nothin' better than stoppin' in to the LGS on a rainy Saturday morning, even if I have no intent to buy anything.  Doesn't have to be holiday time.  Local conversation, a peruse of the used gun counter (you never know who turned in a winner!), or catching a youngster with his dad checking in his first deer.  And my LGS appreciates my wife when she shows up, 'cause they KNOW she's there to buy; and yeah, it is usually around the holiday time.
