A while back there was a post by MR_22 about a longer barreled Ranger at the SHOT show, I think it was 2.5 inch.  He was going to post a picture of it but now I can't find that thread.

Does anybody know any more about this?

Very good question, WyoShooter. Now that the Ranger's problems seem to be mostly worked out, I am kind of interested in a 2.5" Ranger. I have been wondering if NAA would do as it did with the Sidewinder and introduce a 4" version next to be legal in California, or go straight to the 2.5" version. If I see a 2" or 2.5" Ranger this year it will probably become my next NAA.

Bj

Thanks for the new models news.

Lobster

Love the true Black Widow . Would be great if it was the same price . HAHA But a guy can dream can't he.

Ok so the 2.5 inch Ranger is out in the press!  So does that mean we'll get first op to get them?
Thank you and hoping!!

I like it, will obtain one and cary it too.  Looks like it and a speed loader will make a nice combo.

That looks very well balanced.
Might have to have a pair of those.

Thanks Pat.  2.5" Ranger II.  Now that's some news that gets me going!  Maybe by the time they are actually available; I'll have saved enough to get one.

That is how I see it too HTM, maybe when they are ready for the public and flowing off the lines, I will have enough saved to get one.  It just might be what replaces my Black Widow for carry. 8)

Thanks for the info!  Having a 2.5 inch Sidewinder this would be something I would look at.  I'd like both the .22lr and .22mag cylinders for a little versatility.  As was mentioned....start adding a little more $$$ to the fun fund....

NOW I'll buy one maybe two like Unc , I've been waiting for these and the longer the better . Lets all of us that have Ranger !'s contact NAA and give them grief till they accept the idea of having interchangeable both magnum and l.r.barrels for our pieces . NOT FAIR BEING RESTRICTED with having the all time best gun they have produced so far . I want a long rifle barrel for your (use to be ,ha) please SANDY . Thank you from the entire planet of mini owners . :)

I'm joining the list of folks who want a 2 1/2" Ranger. Drawback is they are not yet available. Davidson's does not even list them on their web page as yet. Neither is the BLACK Widow.  :)

Anybody notice the lanyard ring on the 2.5" R II grips?  It's in more than one picture.  This will appeal to cavalry types.  Not good to lose your revolver when mounted.  What a classy looking gun!

I think the lanyard rings are to secure them to the display tables.

Who is WE? get first op?

Rick_Jorgenson

I heard that only those forum members that have 10,000 posts will get early bird 2 1/2" Rangers .......

And they have to order leather holsters to get them.  Several holsters......

And, they have to order them in pairs.......

Looks like Uncle_Lee is the only one that can pre-order! lol!!

I have been known to "not know what I'm talking about" most of the time! lol!

Those rings are to keep the guns attached to the display at a show. No one wants guns walking away. I have done a lot of shows, and anything of value can and will walk away, if it is not on a leash.

I guess I am not seeing a lanyard ring...I still like the 2.5" bbl Ranger though.  As for an EB one, likely as not I won't be able to afford one so frankly I can and will wait.

The Rangers are expensive. If the 2.5 inch version comes with the engraved grips I guess I will be willing to pay $40 more than otherwise, since if I get one the first thing I would do is put laser grips on it. But man, I want to see more reviews from folks who have no problems with their Ranger before I fork over that much. I want a LR Ranger that I can shoot thousands of rounds with no problems like I have my Sidewinders.

Here is a review...

Mine is not a Early Bird, it's regular serial numbered.  I think #BT 00036 (I don't have it "on me" me right now, 3 other are!)  ::)

Shoots flawlessly after 400 rounds.

This is the process I used with this gun, as well as my other NAA's....

When new, I give a quick spray of gun cleaner (or WD-40) whatever is handy, and some gun oil and use them both every 10 or 15 rounds.

It seems to help with the mechanics of the guns breaking in.  Especially the Sidewinders and Ranger II's. YMMV (This my be common knowledge) (I'm not an expert, I only play one in my shop!)  :o

That makes sense.  Lanyard ring for anti-theft at trade shows.  Just a few years ago I would have thought of that.  Now I have to depend on my naaminis forum support staff.  Thanks guys.

I have done a ton of outdoor shows, and two indoor shows, every year for a long time, until both indoor shows died. Theft at indoor shows is a big problem, even at places like Harrisburg.

Theft has become so rampant at shows and the such because today, as with so many other things, the crowds showing up would never have been able to afford to leave their run down neighborhoods and the honest folk really never had to see, let alone tolerate, such folks.

The Welfare System and Artificial Inflation has changed their financial state as well as our younger peoples involvement with these types. They now roam amongst us unknown and often unseen.  :-[

Thanks Rick! That is the kind of review I like to read. There was so much negative stuff when the Ranger first started coming out that I was not at all tempted to try to get one. I figured that eventually NAA would get the bugs out. Hopefully that is the case now!

April maybe for 2 1/2" Ranger, see soapbox link for February.  4" by end of year hopefully.

The 2.5 looks nice and balanced, might be the "one" if I ever buy a mini. Four inch, I don't know. The longer Bonds don't look as well, neither does the "buntline" Bearcat Lipsey's offers.

Still no .22LR Guardian.... :(
