Dsnitker - those sound like good choices to teach someone. I have taught a couple of people, including my daughter, to shoot using a cheap single action .22 similar to a Heritage. I would suggest actually holding the guns in your hand before deciding between birds head and boot grips. I really wanted a Ruger Shopkeeper until I happened to get a Single Six with birds head grips. I soon decided that the Single Six with the boot grips was really better for me. That cooled my desire the Shopkeeper, though if I saw one at a decent price I could still be tempted. Depending on how old your daughter is, a factor to consider is that the Bearcat, either version, is smaller and maybe easier for small hands to grip.
