Has anyone bothered to really polish their revolver? Take all the 'bead blast' finish and polish it? What did you use? How long did it take? How is the result? Any photos? I have a .22lr with 1 5/8" bbl., I think it would look good with the barrel polished. Thanks for your input and ideas.

Hey . . Karl . . . . WELCOME to the Forum!  Glad to have your question, but don't stop there.  Reload and step up to the firing line as often as possible.  We need you opinions, thoughts, range reports, and your pictures!  Don't be a lurker!  Reload and step up.

As to polishing, I have left my Minis "a la natural", so I just can't help ya; but am glad that you stepped in to ask!

Welcome Karlr

I could do a high polish finish, that much is something I can still do.  But I like my revolvers more of a satin finish or blued.  It is fairly easy to do if you have a dremel or a buffing wheel on your grinder, but it isn't for me.

Keep in mind that a high polish shows the slightest mark on it. You can only polish out these marks so many times without distorting the surface. A bead blast finish is hard to repair without having your own blaster handy. The easiest finish for an average Joe to deal with is a brushed finish. A little skill with the right grade of Scotchbrite pad or sandpaper removes noticeable marks easily.

I have polished them. They look fine and the finish holds up fine.

Do a search on here and you will find pictures and tutorial(s), as well as other nice info. I think they look good, just not good enough for me to buy. Or try to polish. If memory serves, the finish is fairly easy to maintain once the polish job is complete.

The polish on my LR mini is about 10 years old now and the photos dont show well but it still looks very nice , do not disasemble the gun its a muther to get back together , I used my dremel & the blue polish truckers use on there wheels it works better then Mothers polish and when done polishing just spray clean with carb cleaner and re oil , dont get carb cleaner on your grips
