I thought this thread may have come to a screeching halt. Some good ideas filtering back in again. The sleeve sounds like a good idea as well. I'm not sure how the copper would look, could be an interesting look. I like the finish on the snipe coin that my buddy had made up. Nothing flashy but well done.

Yeh Joe ... I figured the thread was done too.   I'm glad it's not. (I'll just leave it at that ... )

I REALLY like Rick's idea of the sleeve.  (I'll be all in for a pair of those Rick,  if this coin thing comes to fruition.)

I love the Snipe coin Joe.

First thing that I was sent for was a B.T. punch down in the boiler room.
I got one.......

I would be interested, so count on me getting 3, maybe 4.

That is an awesome coin!

Snipe Coin is a nice one Joe.

I would likely be down for one, MAYBE two coins if they get made.  IF Copper isn't something folks can get behind, I amOK, I just wanted to let my opinion be known. 8)

That Snipe coin is cool.  I'm taking it "Snipe" is someone who works in the boiler room or engine compartment of a ship?  My Uncle did that in the USS Washington, a battleship at the end of WWII.  No Snipes in the Army that I'm aware of?

Here's a couple NRA coins I found laying around.  Silver and gold, sorry no copper.

If NAA goes to the trouble of making a coin it just has to be with the enameled glass inlay like their lapel pin , it would be awesome with any design , what a compliment if given with each gun sold .

Yeah HTM snipes are navy engineering dept. Being a BT was a hot nasty job but I loved it. When a crew member needed some "punishment" they were sent to work with us for a few days. We could instill them with a great appreciation for their normal jobs.

Hey OV, you're right, a colored NAA insignia would add a lot of class.  You'd be less apt to throw it in a drawer and forget about it.

Joe, Snipe sounds like a rough, sweaty, dirty job.  The good part might be not having a lot of brass hanging around to watch over your shoulders.  Not a walk in the park, but it made you who you are.

Sadly, I think you're correct.  Ironic that the one guy that disliked the idea, calling it a waste of NAA's time and resources, no longer participates on the forum.

A challenge coin is used to promote unit cohesiveness.  I think we could use a little of that around here lately.

I travelled 420 miles yesterday to celebrate my friends wife's 70th birthday.  Over 100 folks showed up.  There were about 10 of us from our old Air Assault Company in attendance.  Some of them I haven't seen in 23 years.  Everyone had their coin.

For what it's worth - at this stage - I still think it's a fine idea. I like the idea of a copper or other metal coin. Could even drill a hole in it and use it as a key ring fob.

The wife is contently pressuring me to drive civilly if that stands for anything . :)

Those coins should come with every gun purchase I figure , good advertising and relations .

I have not commented on this thread because I really have no opinion about the coin option. But ... what I would like to see included in the box with new Minis is a NAA stamped screwdriver sized to fit grip screws and the cylinder change screws for Sidewinders. When I bought a Ruger with a lock, the key was a cool little key with an integral screwdriver. Ever since then I have thought that NAA should have something like that made. Especially for the Sidewinders, since the cylinder screw tends to get loose from time to time.

Warthog

Dinadan, I would agree with that too.

Just me, but I like the metal lock box that comes with NAA purchases and would not trade that for a coin or key/screwdriver.
