Going to pick up my 2.5 inch Ranger tomorrow.  Pictures to follow uncle Lee.  I'm looking for pearl boot grips if anyone has a source.  Or stag
but someone told me no one makes stage boot grips.  Like Christmas eve.
Thanks Honky Tonk

Picked her up today.  Have to wait for matching grips till next week when the eagle shits.  Rick I'll be getting in touch soon.  Enjoy the pics.  Might be the first one in Ohio.  Serial number under 100.  Pretty cool, did not have to wait two years for this one.

Again most excellent , love that longer barrel ,I just might have to buy one now . Wonder if I send one of my Ranger 1's in they could fit the longer barrel onto her ,hhuuummmmmmm  .

Had to try some rearranging of the grips.  I need to order stag to match.

It'S amazing what a half inch of barrel length does for this gun.

Uncle_Lee

Very good looking.
Thanks for the pictures.

I may have to start carrying a pair of those.

I" change in the barrel length...1.5 to 2.5".

When looking at the pictures, I was very interested in getting the 2 1/2" barrel. Now that I have one, I don't care that much for the looks of it. The proportions just do not seem right.

Do you have a set of the plain boot grips? Being a little longer than the engraved ones,  they may look better. JMO

I thought the engraved grips were a little bigger?

It's only logical when the gun gets larger the grips should go along to balance the looks but again were talking mini's which kinda changes things . A nice fatter little longer stag boot grips would make it perfect looking but not overpower the grips though in size . That's whats great about making ones own with a little patience and a Dremel theres nothing to it , slow and easy goes it but one has to start of course anyone would amaze themselves . Theres all sorts of materials out there to chose from . Heres a few I've made over time any given pair took about six devoted hours to cut ,shape, polish , mount and fondle . :)

The engraved and plain boot grips are the same size. 😊

OV, did you ever check out juma? No, it's not natural, but it does have some nice looks to it.

Haven't heard from my guy. Have to call him to let him know the Ranger 2s have hit the street. I think the extra inch makes for a better balanced look.
OV, those are some great looking grips. Have you considered quitting the handyman business and doing custom grips? I was born with 10 thumbs and would buy from you in an instant.

Just went to the range and happy as a pig in slop!!!   After 3 or 4 times of 180,400 800 grit wet dry paper and flitz on the 22 cylinder on my EB Ranger finally was able to go thru almost 50rounds of LR and ejected fine!!!!!!!!!  Might do a little more 800 and flitz, but glad I can shoot the dadgum thing some....

Honky Tonk Man

Wow OV, I didn't know you had those skills.  Really nice work!  I like that 3" Earl's grips the best.  Mammoth tusk?  That stag on your Ranger I is about the nicest piece of stag I've seen on a mini too.  I'm impressed!

Thanks you guys but once you start making these things its so terrible hard to give them up especially when they have to be just so-so for the liking . The mammoth ivory is a great pleasure to work with as with legal ivory , that's on the Hogleg and left as much as I could and still look like grips ,ha ,because of where it came from and the price of that stuff . The Ranger 1 is Sambar Stag out of Asia , more elephant on the sidewinder and mammoth on the first Earl . I have lots and lots of material (I seem to lose my mind when buying good stuff) and need to get going again , I go in spurts making things , a wandering mind is hard to keep directions focused . All these materials are getting harder to find real excellent qualities so you'll better get started . I am surprised that guy making the standard stag grips hasn't gotten into doing boots , maybe he realizes the price would have to almost double what he asks for the standards , I've made plenty of those but the boots I'm a sucker for and why not they are just longer really no extra material involved  So that that and above all wear dust marks . Hey Harry if it wasn't for thumbs where the heck would we all be its the most important finger we have and THATS UNOPPOSED , ha . :)

The more I look at these pieces of art the more I would like to have one of each.  To bad I was born pretty and not rich.

OV  I would reward you handsomely for a custom pair of boot grips for my new ranger.  Ivory or stag.
