My LGS won't have any until August. :'(

I want one with the bronze finish, so do everyone at the lgs, I think it will go well with my current rimfire firearms.

The LGS here has a black one for $199 so they are starting to show up.

I have one on order for $179 since late April. I went in yesterday to check & there was a guy with his paperwork picking his up. Since there is a 10 day waiting period in Kalifornia that means his came in at least 10 days ago. Mine is not in yet & I can't start the 10 day period until it comes in.
Save yourselves, it's too late for us.

kygunco has them for 184 backordered--free shipping

10 day waiting period!? Next thing you will tell us that one can only buy 1 handgun per month.  :-[

I believe I am on the east side of the San Andreas Fault. I am hoping for beachfront property. With a little luck all the snowflakes will fall into the ocean & what is left  will be a nice place to live again.

theysayimnotme

It's here now. I will be able to pick it up on June third. I have until then to relearn how to post pictures. I did it once here on the test site. As I recall I had to try several times as the pictures kept disappearing.

Warthog

I hope you get pic figured out. I would like to see it.

Finally picked it up today. Appears to be rather robust. Now to figure out how to post pictures.

I have discovered one thing I definitely don't like. The loading gate is VERY stiff & shaped in such a way it hurts to open it. If you went through a couple of boxes at the range you could wind up with quite a sore thumb. Can't understand how this got past their people.
Hope it loosens up when it wears in.

theysayimnotme

I sent them a message last night about their "design error". I have already gotten an answer back & they say they did it on purpose. They say to lubricate it. That may splain the stiffness but why the sharp edge?

OV-1D

Graphite grease loosens tight spots pretty quickly . Wash off after its in the right looseness for ya but why is it per design .

Part of the design they forgot to get right... ::)

Was at Sportsman's Warehouse yesterday, and they had two black Wranglers. Didn't check one over but a couple of minutes.

Good fit and finish, just a few marks inside the cylinder window. Black plastic grips fit a tiny bit inside the frame edges, not bad. The finish was even and being flat, it set off the glossy grips. I think the all black would be my choice, the others being two toned just doesn't get it.

The free spin cylinder was just that. If you gave it a good start, it would probably make three spins. I like my Bearcat's loading notch better. Trigger was just a little heavier than my Bearcats, but cocking the hammer was pretty stiff. One thing I've seen in reviews is the stiff loading gate with a sharp edge. I'll agree with that, the one real flaw I noted. Surely it would lighten up with some use.

Anyhow, their price was $ 199.99, and it's worth every bit of that. I went back this morning to get a box of .32 , and both Wranglers were gone, sold in less than 24 hours.

At my lgs, it will cost 179 plus tax.

I also noticed the stiff hammer on mine. Quick draw would be a bit of a hassle.
I  paid $179 for mine plus all the Kalifornia junk fees. (sales tax & background fee) at least my "firearms safety certificate" is still good for almost another year. After that you have to pay as best I recall about $25 to take a STUPID test & it's then good for 5 years. A typical question would be: The proper way to determine if a gun is loaded is to look down the barrel & pull the trigger True/false & you don't even have to get 100% right. You can't make this ... .... .. _ up. This state is really that messed up.

OV-1D

California is where "ACID" first took root isn't it . Northern California (top third) should be made its own state and distance itself from the all the jackas*es that inhabit the lower two thirds that makeup the laws . That's just how government (everywhere) works , keep things so complicated one just walks away throwing up their hands in disgust , then move away eventually . But California isn't alone with D.C. being a very close second for starters .

Easr/West split would be just as good. With a little luck the San Andreas Fault will do it for us.

an we find a way to help it move along?

I was very lucky to find one from RKguns last month, just before I went to an out of state shooting event over Memorial day weekend. This picture shows it before, and after the Altamont made, Ruger sold rosewood grips were installed. Everyone at the shooting event who shot it liked it, although one shared the above complaint about a "sharp edge" on the loading gate. He plans on getting a black one so he can file the offending edge off and be able to refinish easily. I don't have a problem with it, although the gate does seem to be a bit on the stiff side - I'm not convinced yet that its loosening up with use and lubrication. Anyway, I love this gun, its a tack driver at 25 yards, even in *my* hands!

(Bottom picture is more true to life colorwise)

I love that one Zorba. If/when I get one it will be in that colour too.

Zorba,  thank you and forgive the late reply.  My LGS will have one for me in August. I look forward to it and thanks again for the pic.  Tell me was bout the grips of you can as well. They look good, the lower set, they are available through Ruger?

Zorba - Nice to see a positive review from someone who actually has one. I really like those wood grips. They certainly do enhance the looks of the gun, though I am guessing that they probably cost about a third as much as the gun did. Nice looking revolver overall.
