To have something with me that didn't weigh much when I'm on the bicycle. Of course the time I forgot to bring  it a dog had me by my shoe. Maybe that was a blessing in disguise. Might have shot myself in the foot.  :o

I started thinking about my Uncle George a few weeks ago.  He was a Full Arizonan transfer.  He had NAA 22 in a turquoise belt buckle.  It was a big buckle and he wore it proudly everywhere.  I asked my cousins if I could buy it when he died, and they said they got rid of it right away.  I wanted one like it, so I bought my first 22 this past week and ordered a belt buckle gun combo to keep it company.

Well, it started when I wanted a small gun to have easy access to and hide in my vehicles. So, I bought a Cobra 22 mag derringer then a Cobra 32 derringer and had one in each vehicle. They weren't terribly expensive so if something happened to them I wouldn't be out a lot of money.
Then, it happened. One day I saw the NAA mini mag. I will have to admit it was love at first sight!
I did some research, then purchased a mini with the conversion cylinder. It became a constant companion in my pocket loaded with 22 mag (practiced with 22lr). Then, I decided I needed one in each vehicle. So, I got a Wasp for one and a 22 mag with black pearl grips for the other. At a gun show I found a 22 short. It was so cute, it just had to come home with me. Then, when I held a Black Widow for the first time I knew this would be my EDC. Later, I just had to have a Pug for no apparent reason, other than I had the illness.
My wife had been carrying a 38 sp snubbie, but was a terrible shot with it. Once she shot my BW she wanted one, so she got one. Then, when my daughter decided to carry, she also wanted a Black Widow, so marry Christmas to her.
A couple of more found their way home with me since then. By the way I noticed a started a lot of sentences with "then". I'm sorry, I was not an English major.

Welcome Texron. You are now an official mini addict.

mine came as a gift. after that they just multiplied like bunnies.

Got a bad case of "smallgun-itis" and bought an original Ruger LCP way back when.  That horrible little pistol was the worst shooter I've ever owned -- possessed a trigger-pull so ridiculously long and heavy that I could not keep the sights on target when the damned trigger finally broke.

Replaced the gawd-awful Ruger with a sweet little Kahr CW380 that has been a true pleasure to pocket and shoot, but I wanted something still a little smaller and bought an NAA Black Widow to scratch that particular itch.

Both the Kahr and the BW are more accurate than I can hold them.  Both post two-hand, off-hand groups of around 3 inches at 15  yards, and both have the accuracy potential to prompt me toward continual practice in the hope of reducing group sizes even further.  In short, they're both plenty accurate to be fun to shoot, and both are imminently "pocketable."

Happy trails,

Texron,
Well, now you went it did it!!

You have the NAA Bug and the only real relief for that ailment is the purchase of a number (great number) of Minis.

Storage problem?  Nope,do what Uncle Lee does and put them in a shoe box!!!!!!

Let us know how the family does on the range with their new minis.

Cary Gunn; the LCP needs some upgrades before it can be considered a good carry gun. It needs the barrel, feed ramp and chamber polished. Add a SS guide rod to replace the trash plastic one. The flimsy plastic trigger needs replacing with a Sweet Pea adjustable aluminium trigger. A Hogue Handall Rubber grip needs to be added to give one something to grip because the stock plastic grip is way too thin to hold onto. Paint the sights white so you can see them. Add the trigger guard laser both for looks and target enrichment if one likes (cannot remember the name brand). To finish it off add some Pearce base plates to the magazines to give one an even better purchase.

These things done can give one a great small pistol that is quick and accurate.

PS: do not forget a properly designed holster.  ;)

Would be a lot simpler to just forget the LCP and buy a Guardian like I did (twice). Doing all that stuff to a LCP would double the investment.....

Not quite double it but the LCP was/is pretty inexpensive. I won the LCP at Ducks Unlimited so upgrades where nothing. I have a Guardian also which I sent back to NAA Custom Shop to have work done to bring it up to my standards as well as some of the same upgrades done to the LCP.

My thoughts are, "Why not both?"  8)

Hey, a free LCP is worth every dime. I really like Rugers, but just don't care for plastic. I'd at least need the metal trigger to do a LCP. For me, naturally a Guardian 32 is a no brainer, but I'd guess yours is .380. Makes a nice pair for you.

Yes, it is. I do not own a .32 caliber pistol. Nothing wrong with them; I simply have not come across one that I had to have.  :D

An LCP with a plastic trigger is a NO GO! Has to be changed out if going to be carried, or even shot by us.

I like em just for the pure novelty of it, and plus they're built to the highest quality of any gun I've ever handled.

Mostly for fun, but I think I may end up carrying my BW.

I bought a short barrel LR mini because I felt the need for an "everywhere" firearm, and nothing fills that role as well as a mini!

I just like the noise it makes when I pull the trigger  ;D ::)

Oh man, I had to stop and figger out what that meant...
Sometimes I have trouble with years.
Seems like 69 was maybe 20-25 years back.

I heard years ago that once you pass 40, it is like a bobsled to He!!.  Can't say I totally agree, but it sure has been a fast ride!

I think I have figgered out why the years pass faster as you age.
When you are 7 years old, one year is 1/7th of your life. A large part of your total life that you have lived.
When you are 70 years old, one year is 1/70th of your life. A small part of your total life that you have lived.

1/7th of a pie is a lot larger than 1/70th . 1/70th will go a lot faster.

Anvil

I've been retired for a couple years now. Everyday I walk along our city lake path for 3 miles for fresh air and good exercise. A few months ago a woman was assaulted and robbed along the designated walking/bike path in broad daylight. This is a town of just around 8,000 population in the middle of america!
So now I have upgraded from carrying a pocket knife for protection to a 22 Mag Pug in a cross carry holster just in case.
You may not need it but should have it.

Anvil

I bought my Pug right after I retired. I daily walk along the city lake pathway and wanted something not too obvious but potentially fair protection just in case it was needed. I probably will never have to use it but it's very reassuring knowing I have some recourse if the situation arises.
