I went to my local gun store over the weekend with my pocket loaded (with green) to buy a Kel-Tec 9mm rifle, which I've been wanting for some time now. Well, they didn't have it.

The big problem was that I was expecting to go shooting Saturday afternoon and already had the cash for the Kel-Tec rifle in my pocket. Big mistake! ;)

I looked around the shop after finding out that my rifle would take a week or two to order. I didn't want to wait. I ended up finding a .22 Magnum revolver that kind of resembed my NAA .22 Magnum Black Widow.  That is--if you enlarged the revolver at a magnification of about 1000% percent! ;) But I'm a sucker for .22 guns. ;)

Much to my wife's displeasure, I brought home a .22 Magnum Taurus revolver with a twelve in barrel. Yes, twelve whole inches. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but it's certainly an interesting addition to my collection. I've got to take a picture of my two .22 Magnum revolvers sitting next to each other. I might have to specifially point out the Black Widow or you might not see it!

It shoots pretty good, too. I took it out and shot various ammo thru it, including 30, 40, and 50 grain rounds. With a 12" barrel, I'm probably getting pretty good velocities.

Unfortunately, it doesn't fit into my pocket, so I guess I won't be carrying it concealed.

Hi Darvell:

A rodent killing gun if ever there was one.

   Good hunting.

Oh, man, you just wait until you get that sub 2000...  WOOOO HOOOO!!!!  I love mine more than all my other guns combined.  It is just too much fun to shoot, and my only complaint about it is that when I go to the range, everyone else wants to shoot it and I feel like I have to share.  I bought the spring loaded scope mount for it, with a 2-7 power adjustable scope, and a few 17 round clips, and I burn through 200 or 250 rounds every time I go to the range.  So far I have about 800 rounds through it without a single jam, misfire, ftf, or any other issue at all.

Definitely buy the 1" stock pad... it doesn't interfere with the front sight when it folds, as there is a slot for the sight to drop right into.

That baby is my pride and joy... folds right into my little laptop brief case and I'm good to go.  Breaking it down takes a little getting used to... I had to call customer service to explain it to me, but they were amazing over the phone.

If the store was out, order one... I did and it arrived in three days.  You won't regret it!

   Peace

(gotta get Ron to make an IWB for that, lol!)

I'm still going to get one. But what grips should I get? I can get Glock, Sig, S&W, and Beretta. I was hoping to get S&W because I've heard that SOME magazines will work with both my Kel-Tec P11 and the S&W version of the Sub2000. It would be cool to have the Kel-Tec rifle and pistol in the same case and have them use interchangeable magazines.

Hey George. I think this would be a fun gun to put a scope on it to site in those pesky varmints. I wanted to do this with a Minimaster, but I think this Taurus may be better suited for it.

But where can I get a holster?! ;)

The KTOG message board is filled with complaints about the .40 cal Sub, and aparently Kel-Tec has pretty much ceased production of them (I think, but I may be wrong) so don't go for the .40.

I went with the Glock, reluctantly, but I figured mags would be more readily available, and I hoped it would be more trouble free than the others.  But, now I feel compelled to buy a Glock so I can swap the mags between guns.  In terms of the grab-your-bags-and-run kind of disaster, that carbine with the matching pistol would be a good combo.  Many people on the KTOG message board have complained that 9mm isn't an ideal hunting round, but with the scope my shot placement is superb... I feel like I could do just fine hunting with it OR defending my family.

I wasn't aware that the P-11 could swap mags with any configuration of the Sub, but if that's true, then I really wish I'd bought THAT one.  I am going to reluctantly buy a Glock; I would happily buy a P-11.  I will eventually own a few more NAA guns, but I doubt I'll buy ALL of them.  I really want ALL of the K-T guns.  The SU-16, the P-11... already have the P32... maybe I'll pass on the .380.  We'll see.

The only other advantage to the Glock combo (go 17, not 19) is that since the majority of police forces are carrying Glocks these days, you know high capacity magazines are going to continue being produced, and available.  But if you already have the P-11, I think your choice is already made.

   Peace through folding carbines!

Well, the P11 accepts SOME S&W high capacity magazines. I've heard not all. And that genuine S&W mags work better than knockoffs. So if you get the S&W grips, you could conceivably use mags for both guns. And yes, that does work, but you need to make sure the mags work with both guns, because not all do.

That's what I've heard, anyway. I have a 15-round S&W magazine for my P11, but I haven't tried it yet. Not sure if it works, but I bought it for the P11. I would like to be able to use it with the Kel-Tec rifle as well.

Good Lord, Darvell!  That 12" Taurus .22 looks like a small-bore version of a gun Lee Van Cleef used in one of the Clint Eastwood movies -- I think it was "Fist Full of Dollars."

   Impressive!

>Impressive!

   :-)

Quite a difference from what I usually buy, that's for sure, as this one can't fit into my pocket. It's no Minimaster, but maybe I'll call it my Monstermaster. ;)

Hi Darvell:

When your wife saw you, did she say "Is that a gun in your pocket or are you really, really, really happy to see me?"

darvell

Whatever do you mean, George? Are you implying that a Monstermaster in my pocket would make me look different?

Hi Darvell:

What I am saying that your wife most likely looked to the sky and said "yes there is a God, and all is right with my world." Then when she realized that it was merely a gun, she said ***, another hunk of useless metal...

darvell

Hi George.

   Perhaps I should've included a smiley. ;)

I meant to say that she wouldn't have noticed it. ;)
