Barrel crown on mini master. I've read that it's not important with short barrels. Anyone ever had a crown job done and did it make any difference?

Homemade crown job. Brass roundheaded bolt on a drill with valve grinding compound. Don't expect any improvement in accuracy as the crown dosnt reach the rifling. But it looks better i think it looks better.

I have four NAA mini revolvers. The newest two, a 4" 22mag Earl and a 1 5/8" 22mag EllettBros. tritium sight convertible, have good crowns and are as accurate as I'd expect these little guys to be. My oldest two, a 1 5/8" 22LR and a 1 5/8" 22mag with regular blade sight, had no crowns and the barrels were both cut at slight angles that weren't square across the bore.  These were less accurate, and I had the crowns improved by a local guy who had a device with a rod that went down the bore to center it and a small cutter at the end to shape the crown.  Improvements were immediate.
These were older production revolvers from the 1980's, and I also believe NAA woulda corrected it for me if I'd have shipped them to the factory.  But it was only $10 to be fixed while I waited, much less than the shipping would have been.
So yes, in my experience a proper crown makes a difference in accuracy with NAA revolvers.
I hope this helps.  Steve in Boise

Thanks Steve, I may look in to getting that done. Fyi, pictured is a new mini magnum, I believe all the revolvers with a heavy barrel have similar crowns.
