Attached area picture of a visitor on my back porch this morning and some pics of his buddies I took yesterday.  Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving

Even tho I'm a fan of venison I would probably look at them more as pets than as targets if they were to come to my back yard. Very cool.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.

I would like to live there.
Set on the porch in a rocker and watch the animals.

Nice bucks. I love my venison but I don't shoot any in my yard. Got oak trees at lower edge of back yard. This time of year deer eating acorns each morning and afternoon. Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.

I look at those racks as gun grips after they fall off , sweet looking animals . At least you know where to find them in an emergency .

I love when the deer come into my backyard.  None have ventured so close tho.  They usually stay at the back, about 300 ft from the back porch, although a few times they have forgotten about the house and have grazed within 50 ft or so.  Beautiful to see.

Wow. Pictures like those make me wish that I didn't live in suburbia.  Just to watch them.

My wife and I fed the animals for 31 years out there in the sticks.
Our health finally sent us to town to a very small apartment.
But we kept 10 acres of woods on 2 hill sides with a small branch at the bottom.

They were thankful for all we gave them.

I put out seed for the songbirds and quail. My cat (indoor only) and I love watching them. The flying rats / pigeons are driving me crazy though. Can't shoot them since I live in a subdivision.  >:(

Knew a guy who said he was waiting for his two sons to leave home, so he could "harvest" some of the wild turkeys from under his bird feeders that hung from his deck.

A little food for thought good old Ben Franklin wanted the turkey as our country's bird symbol because of its fearlessness and intelligence . Myself I have found that turkey just doesn't live up to those qualities , I think old Ben was feeding them home made mash to sweeten the meat or Ben was nipping too much of his own home brew .. :)

I lived out in the sticks in NH , always had deer out in the yard, never to close to the house tho they stayed a couple hundred feet away, can't say the same for the bear tho, had a cub come thru the dog door into the cellar once, and the cubs would climb the trees right outside my door, had a moose stick his head inside my bedroom window one time . Here in AZ I have Coyotes, Javalina, Mtn Lions tons of rabbits and cows tha wander thru my back yard. Love sitting out on the deck watching all the going ons  :D.Oh and  the dam squirrels  there a real PITA.  >:(

This one was eating out of our bird feeder. They often come up on our deck 3 at a time while we're sitting there. And one day one walked right through our sliding screen door and into our family room!
