Which grip gives the best control?

I recently bought a .22mag with the 1 1/8" barrel. After shooting it I realized that I need a different grip. I would like to lean to the experienced shooters on here to help me decide which grip would best suit me.

I have looked at the Boot grip, mini-master and oversized rosewood. What I really need is more length on the grip not necessarily any width but I'm not sure which would be the best.

Does the boot grip add that much length to the grip?

I am looking for experienced shooters to give me a hand on deciding.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

The folding mag grip has alot more length, but the oversized grip has been working well for me until some Cvang grips arrive.

If you plan to use it for concealed carry, I would look into the rubber cobblestone grip panels, or the slip on rubber grip made for the PUG.

I have only used the stock and the folding grip. The folding has a lot of up and down play or rotation around the pivot pin, perhaps 4 or 6 deg on my mini. That may not sound like much but it kills maintaining  zero unless I use upward pressure on the frame with my off hand.
I find it is a LOT easier to hold with the folding grip though. I think more than a solid folding grip, the thing that will help with being accurate would be a rear sight   :-\

The truth be told though, while we can try and improve our longer range shooting and some progress can be made there, the very short barrel does not help much to that goal and I consider the mini to have done it's job if I can get an intruder to leave or to stay far enough away to not be a threat to me, such as 10 feet or more. At that distance, the mini is more than accurate enough, regardless of which grip is on it.

Now the above does not stop us from wanting to improve and customize our minis, not in the least!

I really like those CVang Grips. They look like they would be perfect. How do I go about ordering a set of those?

My main concern is concealment and also control, so for me, putting huge grips on my Mini would be counterproductive.

I like the idea of the cobblestone rubber panels, they don't increase the size of the grip on my .22 LR mini but should give me better hold, for quick drawing and shooting under stress. My Mini is a self defense and deep concealment tool, not a range gun for me.   The rosewood grips look neat, but are too slippery for actual use, and after a few months of pocket carry they will be banged up anyway.

Thanks for the info. I love the looks of the CVang grips. I just ordered a set. I think they will be perfect. Thanks also for the pictures. I'm going to try out the cheap black ones and if they do the trick I'll be ordering another set of the pretty ones.

Cvang grips are not "huge".
Rubber sticks to my pocket and brings the pocket out with the gun.

I am the exception regarding grip choice. I do not care for the boot grips, nor the pebble grain rubber ones (Wasp), tho they are nice. I personally prefer the standard style grip. While I have never shot with the BW over sized ones, I strongly suspect they will be very good for shooting.

I had an opportunity to handle some of the Cvang grips. I can see me ordering a set in the not to distant future.

The duster grip adds just enough length to really stabilize the gun. The finger hole
Need not be used if shooter does not want to. Gun is easy to manipulate with finger in or out.

I have the standard BW grips which are available from NAA and they do a good job, but I will probably try a pair of Cvang grips.

+1 on the CVang grips! They are not too big for a pocket. Heck they even fit in my vest pocket easy with them on. Much more control then the boot grips.

I meant to add in my earlier note supporting the CVang grips:

1. Concealability is not diminished over the OEM rubber pebble grips.

2. At ten yards benchrested, my 5-shot groups shrank from 5"-6" (OEM grips) to 2"-3" (CVang grips) using various types,of SD ammo. And I could sure kick up the dust  near (!) small targets at 25 yards. Wonderful improvement.

3. I have medium sized hands.

4. These are the only two grips I've used on my only NAA, a Pug with tritium sights. Haven't looked back since getting the CV grips.

Which grip gives the "best" control, depends on which grip gives YOU the best control.  For me it is the Magnum Black Widow rubber grips that work best.  But, that's just me.

The oversize rubber.

Work and feel good on the Black Widow... I ordered a pair and put them on my Sheriff.

Good grip and control.  Both allow very accurate shooting.
