Welcome gee,
I am glad to see some smarts coming to the forum, we need it.
Share with us all that you know. But be prepared to post pictures.

Now I have a request.....
Please translate your post into layman's terms. I have no idea what you are saying.
Thanks

gee-
Welcome!

Uncle_lee- I think he is saying he smoothed out the sharp edges, but I may be wrong!

Perhaps a discription of...

What parts and sections of the gun you preformed these actions on.

How you went about doing it.

Any cautionary advise before someone proceeds to apply this to their own gun.

Welcome Gee!
I've never done anything to mine but there are a few sharper edges that I wished had been done I guess. But I just keep 'em as they come.

bearcatter

I have a set of three swiss files that do well to break sharp edges. They are fine tooth, so it takes longer but also harder to over-do it.

I don't know how or if. taking off metal. may affect the lifetime warranty...

Any metal (structure as in frame and any and all parts) tinkering will void the warranty no doubt . Why buy something your not happy with ? I just don't get it . It would be just plain dumb to warranty somebody's delusions . Lifetime warranty is worth more than any gain one would get from any tinkering . Please no complaints if things go afoul . Dang !

Isn't this called "Melting"  ?

I think it's pretty common & often done  .... to just softening the sharp corners.
From the measurements that the OP gave ... I wouldn't consider this to be a warranty breaking issue.

"Breaking the edges" (and corners) is smoothing them enough that they don't draw blood or slice a holster. "Melting" goes some farther than that.

Welcome to the forum, gee ! !  :D

IMO, most people that you hand the gun to, for eyeballing/coon-fingering, wouldn't even notice the work you did.  8)

Now - go shoot the snot out of it !  :)

I'm with Glenn. The small amounts the OP is mentioning would not likely affect the warranty.

Probably not going to mess up the warranty, that isn't going to mess with anything that makes the pistol function.  But it *is* going to make the pistol just a tad nicer.... good job sir.  Like other folks I'd be interested in what edges you worked over.

Cheers,

gee

I did The top of the Barrel The small sight and the front of the barrel they were all sharp it feels much better now. I has nothing to do with its function with the gun and look much better. A swiss half round File works great with a finger nail emery board.

Just for the heck of it better check with NAA then you'll know for sure . Would be nice to get that in writing though .

Welcome to the forum GEE.

The first one I did was the Ranger 2 and the second was the standard Mag.

On my Guardians, I just smoothed the front edges of the barrel. All they needed. The two top corners were especially sharp, didn't want to gouge any holsters, especially my DGL Paddle !

I find the cylinder edges to be very sharp. Maybe I'll try to smooth them up a tad.  :) Now I got a days work to do 7 mini's and yikes a bunch of cylinders  ??? Emery cloth ought to work .

gee

That's a fun project stay away from any bead blasted areas. I would only do clean work It does take a while. It would definitely add to the cost if they the whole gun. I get it.
