Well after more than a year of thinking, questioning, and down right procrastination, I finally  found and put down the $ for a NAA, sight unseen.  Bug Out 2 combo.  The Mrs. went and picked it up last night.  Good lord this thing is tiny.  Although the barrel is a bit longer, over all it's smaller than my FIE 38 derringer.  That's okay, I have had on hand a set of CV grips for a month or so. Knew when I broke down it would be a magnum/combo.  Still kind of tiny.  Think I may have to try some oversized wood grips. Put on the CV grips, stepped out the back door, put 5 22lr into the bottom of a 1lbs coffee can a a paced 10 yards.  All at 23:00 hrs when I got home from work, lets just say I'm happy.  I know, no pictures it didn't happen, but i don't have anything to take pictures with or would know how to to get em from one annoying piece of equipment to another.  Thanks to every one here who so generously shairs the knowledge.

Welcome to the forum, Bluecow!  And congrats on your first and likely not last NAA.  There's some smart, experienced members here, so dive right in with your questions and feedback.  And may I be the first to say, a Desert Gun Leather holster would be a great welcome home gift to the new Bug.

You literally got the NAA "Bug"😁

Congrats.   Before getting new grips give it some time with the old.  It can be done.  I never understood getting the smallest gun you can and then putting monster grips on it.  It turns a gun you can hide in a pocket into on that screams  " High! I am happy to see you!"  Quote from  May West.  It's like putting 30" rims on a VW bug. Train the hand. I put a laser on a bigger pistol and was shocked how hard it was to keep the dot steady on the wall.   That may be just me.

+1 - plus, welcome to the forum ! !

I long ago learned how to shoot a Mini with one had holding the grip area and the other actuating the trigger, after switching to birdshead grip panels.

I hated the huge rubber bumpers my Black Widow was issued with because carrying with the issue grips was like concealing an elephant.................

Like anything else new, it takes a little practice to become accustomed to using the method.

Howdy bluecow, welcome.
One of the reasons I like this little hole in the wall forum is the variety of opinions to be found covering the NAA and how they vary all over even though we all like the product.
I am never without my mini revolver, "pants on, gun on", but for me the original grips are too small for my stubby fingers so all four of my minis wear oversized grips. The three magnum framed ones use Black Widow grips, the 22LR frame wears NAA oversized wood, and they all disappear completely in my jeans pocket.
Let us know how yours change and how your experience with carrying and shooting go.

My grips too are longer than the original birdheads...Let's just say they work for me. BTW welcome!

Welcome and congrats on your new gun. Lots of great people and information on this site.

Grips are an interesting pursuit for me. I tend to prefer the boot grip. I particularly like the engraved boot grip NAA offers. It's a tad thicker and the semi gloss and checkered panel seems more secure for me.
I just purchased some CV Revision grips and find them comfortable, but a little cumbersome to use one handed, as I need to shift the gun in order to thumb back the hammer. Maybe I need more practice!

Welcome,
I prefer Cvang grips because I can cock, aim, shoot, cock, aim shoot, all with one hand without the revolver moving in my hand. They are not that much bigger.
Just saying.

Uncle-lee,
That's EXACTLY what I can do with the boot grip on the BW. I notice that my pinky finger rests on the grip's butt, and adds a little more leverage to the process. The CV grip doesn't allow me to do that.

WELCOME to the asylum ! Remember they are habit forming  !  One will lead to another one,  and  another one till you have 7 or 17.  Congratulations on your first of many NAAs.   TTFN.     R
